  1. photoprint 5

Somehow my software changes the way it does things, without my knowledge. The biggest gripe I have with Photoprint is that you can't do multiple duplications on the main page. I tend to copy and paste to get around it and has worked fine until yesterday. Normally I can copy and paste it where I...

  4. Help with 1st digital printing sub job

I still run Signlab 5 and I will tell you this when I set up a file in Signlab that is all spot colours and export as an eps file to Flexi, I have found that most of the colours come in great and print pretty well the way I expect. For instance my saphire blue colour came through so good that I...

  6. yellow and cyan no print

I run a Mimaki jv3. I ask the question here as the experience factors here of actual users is much more reliable than any dealer. The dealers job is to sell the machine, they don't work with them everyday in the field. Secondly I will get an honest answer here. My dealer will never wan't to...
  7. beginning to hate flexi

I use flexi photoprint and the odd time it gets that freezing issue you talk about, but I have also experienced that sort of stuff in Signlab, Corel and Illustrator, I think sometimes the memory gets used up to quicl\kly with larger bitmap files. As I said it is infrequent so it's not an issue...
  8. yellow and cyan no print

I ran my first job of the day just a few minutes ago and it was weird. The black was printing like a very dark magenta, so I stopped the job and ran a test print and the yellow and cyan didn't print a thing. I have seen this before and just turned the printer off and back on reset and then ran...
  9. Howdy From Carleton Place - Canada

Pride Signs is a pretty big outfit near Kitchener Ontario. As to magnets. The gerber edge does cut them allthough I have to admit that cutting magnetic material in a steel machine has its problems lol welcome and good luck from Toronto
  10. How High Will Gas Go Before Summer?

So I'm driving home from the office today and on the news they say Gas is going up 4 cents a litre by morning. That takes it to $1.09 per litre ( not sure what that is in american conversion) but here's the complete stupidity of the reasoning the radio station gave, I will assume from the oil...
  11. O's not closing

If it is just happening and worked ok before it could be the blade or the cutting strip. Not sure about your plotter.
  12. Mimaki Is Banding, Bad Test Cleans

I would like to hear how you Mimaki users do your daily maintenance. I have 3 routines. Mon - friday I clean the wiper and everything around the wiper and the top of the sponge cover as well as the two bars that move the wiper in and out. I then use foam tips and clean the capping station and...
  13. How does "outdated software" affect your products

Get that old computer back up and running for that program only. I too suffer from upgrade dilemma. I run signlab 5, but have two worksations with it, so to upgrade one means to upgrade both. I also have Omega and Flexi. Each does for me what I need. The most important aspect of an upgrade I can...
  14. %age of lamination %$#$% ups?

I have always found laminating to be a problem in our shop. I just am curious as to what %age of laminating jobs end up having to be reprinted.
  15. Warmup error

What Fred said, and be aware that when you put the machine on its side theres a good chance that your hydraulic lifts for the cover may fail, so be cautious and ready for them to weaken. I have used a bungee cord to hold open our edge after we turned it on its side for a good cleaning and board...
  16. making changes to the colour swatches.

To many times I get that message when shutting down that the colour swatches have been changed and do I want to save it. I always click no but then there are the times that the software automatically shuts down from a windows error or the times I am in a rush and just keep clicking things shut...
  17. RealTimeDesigner - New Merchant Member

It said I need firefox for it to operate properly, why can't it work with IE?
  18. Stickers advice

Snyders is the way we would do it. It's the way we do it when the colours are not matchable with print or they require a 2ml vinyl.
  19. mask

The thing with paint mask is that it has a very short shelf life. I think General Formulations or Flexcon make it but beware of old stock. If it's old the glue releases and thats even worse.
  20. media compensation on a mimaki

Thanks for all your help. I didn't realize that you could swing the media comp in such drastic shifts. I was more afraid that I would start getting gaps in the print. I am going to experiment with it more now and thanks for the tip about where on the two grey lines you look. I always suspected...
