  1. Printing with Florescent inks?

Didn't know that florescent colored vinyl was available. These will be panels that are 3'x5' or so. We'll then laminate and apply to some simple, lightweight material like 3mm PVC. They have to show up under black light for a bowling alley promotion of some kind. Does that sound possible?
  2. Printing with Florescent inks?

I'm being told that there are Florescent inks available that will print on the Roland? Have a fairly large job if we can do so. Large panels, black over Florescent. Anyone have experience in this area?
  3. Fellers "Gamut" and "Solvex" wrap vinyls

Has anyone had the experience of the adhesive tearing loose from the vinyl? That is, if it happens to touch automotive glass, then when you pull it away, the adhesive rips away from the vinyl and you're looking at a patch of vinyl (the back) that is white. (the adhesive is grey) Stuff seems...
  4. Width cutting issue on SP-540

JoesHaul, thanks a ton! Worked like a charm. Didn't know about the margin default setting. Learn something new everyday. Again, thanks everyone.
  5. Width cutting issue on SP-540

Ok, this is a vector file. It is cut only. This blue line is always there, not just on this job.
  6. PDF Virus

Done, but how will be know when a fix is available?
  7. Width cutting issue on SP-540

I'm trying to cut a file that is 34.7" wide on 36" material for another sign shop. (who supplied the art and the media.) I'm able to load it successfully in the machine in a manner that tells me I've got 37.8" available. But VersaWorks is displaying a little blue line around the art that...
  8. Should you fire this employee?

Would have to go, I'm afraid.
  9. Dead, dead, dead......dead.

Really been slow. Wrapping a Tundra today. Got four different other clients inquiring about wraps currently. We'll see.
  10. "Sorry, we'll pay as soon as possible..."

I've said it before and I'll say it again, "the behavior that gets rewarded is the behavior that get's repeated". Simple. Marking invoices "due on receipt" means absolutely nothing if that same client takes 30 days to pay and you allow this to happen again and again. I'm not saying we're not...
  11. How long to wait before lamination?

Personally I try and use some common sense. If it's the rainy season or the humidity is high, I'd wait the entire 24 hours and maybe a few more. Air temp makes a difference too. Also air movement in the shop. Ceiling heights also play a role. Think about this: If you were a manufacturers rep...
  12. Christmas funnies!

    Couple more Some more
  13. Need a fast way to cut off decals

Bluemoon and Valhalla..good posts. Trying to help the guy with sound ideas. Subbing it out is also a viable path. Cranking on the OP seems like piling on to me.
  14. Christmas funnies!

Here's something for the Monday morning blues.
  15. Almost killed yesterday

No argument there, man. But I'll tell you I've overheard car drivers talking in coffee shops and such. Bitching about "those crazy bicyclists". I've not done it yet, but the next time I hear it I'm going to casually walk up and say something. This stuff has got to stop. Again, glad you're a...
  16. Getting Payment

It's simple. The behavior that get's rewarded is the behavior that gets repeated. If you let them walk without paying, then that's the behavior you're going to see over and over again. Set some rules. Stand by them. Watch happily as your problem evaporates. Simple.
  17. Almost killed yesterday

Sorry to learn of your accident. Main reason I quit riding roads a few years back. Now it's the trainer at home and the spinner at the gym. Too many inattentive drivers out there. Oh...and don't you just love the ones who own the road and don't think they should share it at all? Bastards.
  18. Challenger Wrap & School Bus Wrap

I like the large mascot/graphic on the school bus. But it almost seems as if it comes at the expense of the school name itself. (school name squashed to the point of non-readability) Therefore the "identity" of the school, (which is paramount in importance) suffers somewhat. Looks like a...
  19. Shop Truck concepts

This poster beat me to it. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw the layouts. Almost everyone lays out the vehicle concept from the drivers side. (words read left to right and for that reason it may make some sense to layout the passenger side first on some of these types) Colors...
  20. Huge Idiot Inside...Look! (Allen Datagraph)

Does everything appear to be kosher, ie: on a single baseline on the screen? Is there some sort of "ghost" object maybe real tiny also selected along with the text? Just guessing.
