  6. "Oh Buddy, you are WAAAY off!"

Here's the thing. Our plotter is constantly running vinyl. No big thing to slip a file (boat registration numbers) into it. Run out some scrap. But to b*tch about the money. I almost walked him, 'cept I had the money in hand. Go buy pre-packaged vinyl letters buddy. See how long they last...
  7. "Oh Buddy, you are WAAAY off!"

That's funny. It's not uncommon for some of these people to be very, very tight. I know, I play golf with many of them. It's okay that they make gazillions of dollars, but when it comes to buying other people's services, it's how much? how much? Gets old.
  8. "Oh Buddy, you are WAAAY off!"

Yep. Just had a guy in for some RTA 3" black Helv. Med. lettering for his boat. He'll put it on himself. A dollar and a dime I told him, per letter. His whole job (both sides of a boat) comes to $17.60. I ring him up and he says, "kinda expensive, isn't it?" Funny thing is, this guy is also a...

  11. Shop tables

Hi MYS and welcome to the forum. My take on shop tables is this: Construct your own. (if you're not handy, get someone to do it) If you have a couple tables that will be permanently located in one spot, don't put wheels under them. Make those 4'x8' and cover them with a self-healing...

  15. Hi Everyone!!!!

Hi Josh, welcome from the great Pacific Northwest. Regarding the printer (and laminator) did you know that there is a way to print out the machines "history"? (headstrikes, number of print head firings, etc.? It may take a tech to do it for you, or perhaps someone on the board here knows how...
  16. re-sizing issue when importing into PhotoShop

Just tried it again with smaller dimensions and no problem. Is it that PhotoShop can't work with images over 200" long?
  17. re-sizing issue when importing into PhotoShop

This has just started happening and I can't seem to see what's going on. Export file from Omega as a .tif file, say it's 220" long. Export at say, 150 dpi. Open in Photoshop and presto, the file is 93" long at 150 dpi. Same thing happens if I export as .eps file. Open in Photoshop at 150dpi...
  18. Letters disappearing

Some sort of stroke has been applied. Perhaps an in-line as opposed to an outline? Maybe white letter with white stroke?
  19. Versacamm sp540v - pinchroll errors/changing the data cable?! PLEASE HELP!

I recently encountered this very problem. Purchased the flex cable and have put it in. (following your great step by step instructions) I'm still getting the "pinch roll error, invalid right position" message. Is there anything else it could be?
  20. Is it normal that my SP540 can not pull heavy media by itself?

Yep. We free-roll about two yards of material every half hour or so. Until the roll gets down to about 1/3 left. Roland Sp-540v
