I think the issue has something to do with adhesive and UV ink not being very compatible. I'm not entirely sure so hopefully someone has some better input.

bubble gum tastes way better than Elmer's!!!! PL super adhesive seems to work pretty good although I've never used it outdoors. Some carpenters I know swear by the stuff. Either way, I don't think I would trust glue or tape for something outdoors.
