its not a bad idea. but like it was said above I would not use silicone. Use a sign grade epoxy such as weld-on 45 or lord adhesive. Another idea would be to epoxy on pads and stud mount.
Time is money. It is more cost effective for your customer to buy new faces. Its is your job to educate them into the correct decision. If they want new looking faces, they will need to be new!
only 1 side is UV coated,so that is a bad idea.
