+1 on the Avery suggestion. The adhesive seems more aggressive than the IJ180 series for sure. Of course on the helmet I was dicking around with to test different cast vinyls, it was also the only vinyl to lift off the clear coat during removal.
What you're probably seeing is the distortion of the vinyl from the solvents in the ink. This dissipates with time as the inks cure/outgas and the vinyl returns to it's original shape.
I see it all the time even with blockout media. If you're seeing the actual printed image through the media...

You can slow down the speed at which the vinyl loads into the machine. I had to do it as my 54" cutter would just mangle the crap out of the printed vinyl that was loaded into the machine during the loading process.
Once I slowed that part of the process down it behaves nicely.

When I sheet lam a sign face sometimes I'll cut the laminate and then let the vinyl and the laminate sit on the table overnight to get any curl out of it if it's from the end of a roll.

I had a customer oh no! today too. Looks like they never looked at the proofs (beyond signing them) and there's some text (in a foreign language, theirs!) that was completely wrong.
Another couple grand booked to replace it.

I've had issues with the soap and water mixture too. Tried out the rapid-tac II to see if it was all that, and what do you know.... problem went away.
I know some on here think it's all a bunch of balony, but hey, it worked for me.
Not enough heat. The only time I ever see pinch roller markings is when the machine is coming up to temp. Once the media hits the right temperature and opens it's pores to the ink it goes away.
