  1. Print for our waiting area

you left out "X"... just kidding (well, you did actually), looks awesome, great marketing piece.
  2. Hello from Ohio

Howdy from Dayton. Go bucks is right... big day tomorrow!
  3. Wood signs the Mosher way!

    Seriously, right?
  4. Wood signs the Mosher way!

OK, you know what, that last picture sealed it for me (I don't hunt, nor am I a big beer drinker). I'm just gonna' say it. I like this guy. I do. He's like Cappy or S&F but he's funny and doesn't take himself too seriously. Mosh, you're pricing like an idiot, your signs are okay, definately not...
  5. Which Laminator?> Ledco vs Royal

I've used both (well sort of, we have the cold Royal Sovereign), I greatly prefer the royal. The Ledco is built like a tank, but the build quality on the RS is still excellent. The RS seemed alot more user friendly.
  6. need some help with silvering?

Is it sunny there? If so set it outside for a couple hours to see if it goes away.
  7. need some help with silvering?

try a high-performance vinyl, preferably Oracal or 3M. Anytime you apply vinyl reverse to the backside of a clear substrate, be it glass or plastic, you can have this. In theory it will go away with time, I've never had it not and we've done more than a few signs like this. Ideally if you can...
  8. New Design PC Finished!

Nice. Did you OC the i7 at all? What CPU cooler are you using?
  9. Need help with large format psd files.

What kind of issues (or just won't boot)? I didn't know it could cause problems, I've been running it on 4 computers for about 3-4 years now and never had an issue, maybe we're lucky...
  10. Need help with large format psd files.

No. It's technically the OS that recognizes the RAM, if the OS only sees 3.5 gb, the program will only see 3.5gb. Plus a 32 bit OS won't run a 64 bit program (a 64 bit OS will run a 32 bit program though). On the subject, if you have a 32 bit OS and Photoshop 32 bit, and your computer has 4 gb...
  11. Need help with large format psd files.

Not a huge difference in what they do, except CS4 64 bit will address all of your RAM where CS3 only sees about half of it. You will see a drastic increase in performance there. Without upgrading to CS4 64 bit (a $200 upgrade) those extra 2 gb of RAM you just installed aren't doing anything for...
  12. Need help with large format psd files.

Is your scratch disk set to a different drive from your OS and Photoshop? Assuming the scratch disk is set up that way, is this an internal (or external eSATA) drive or is it an external USB drive? How much of the RAM do you have Photoshop using? What version of Photoshop are you using? Only CS4...
  13. wall mural

Have you ever laminated the Phototex with a pressure-sensitive laminate? They say you shouldn't, just curious if it works or not.
  14. Taking Graphics off plexi when cold or hot

Wouldn't it be easier/cheaper for you or the customer to either use new panels or cover the existing graphics with an opaque white vinyl and then apply your new removable vinyl? Seems like the labor to remove and clean up 100 panels of that size would far exceed starting from scratch.
  15. Wall Noodle question

Anybody know if MacTac's Wallnoodle, Orajet's 3268 wall vinyl, or Avery's 2611 wall vinyl work for an entire permanent wall mural? I have a customer looking for a 30'x9' wall mural, normally we'd just use wallpaper or Phototex, but they want it laminated with a dry erase laminate, so I need to...
  16. What to buy?

I appreciate the heads up. It's interesting, so far you're the first actual user I've heard say anything bad about it. The general consensus is it's a great printer for what it is... not a speed demon, not a photo printer, but a good all around sign shop flatbed for a lower-volume user. How...
  17. What to buy?

Haven't made a decision yet... ugh. Honestly leaning towards the Gerber IonX. They're selling factory refurbished demo units (new heads, ink lines, 2 yr warrant) for $60k installed. Between the price and the fact that it fits in our shop without having to undertake a massive remodeling project...
  18. Uneven Print length on JV33

Awesome, good to know. The takeup reel can cause that to happen, especially if you have the clutch tightened down too much so it's pulling too hard.
  19. Buick Lasabre Wrap?

Make her drive 45 minutes. That's a good way to prequalify someone for a job like that. If they're just price fishing you'll know it, she won't come. If she's seriously interested, she'll come. Or you could just find a local car lot with one and go measure it there in the evening after...
  20. Water Jet cutting.. $$$$$$???

Laser cut them and go with acrylic, that waterjet price is astronomical. I had our laser folks cut something very similar to that as far as complexity out of 3/8" acrylic and it cost us $110 for a 4x8' sheet.
