i been doing for years and years and years i retired my old printer 3 years ago. i am only on my second printer in all this time. my old printer will need very little to get it up and running if i ever needed it again.
i use rtape with 2100 all the time. you have to take it nice, easy, and slow.
i mostly only have issues with the blue backed white. i have a roll holder at the end of my table. i pull out the premask and let it "lay" softly on the vinyl then squeegee the width starting in the middle working...
i use a heat assisted one and it helps a lot. somethings needs the heat turned off. others it helps lay down nice and smooth.
i feel like its a value added feature even if you only rarely use it.
man hole covers are owned by the company that services the utilities that they access.
a person could get in trouble for vandalism if they modify them.
i could see a short term decorative piece on it for a festival or something.
but if you don't deal directly with the utility company. i say no...
i actually intended that to be more of a question on if you tried it. it might be strong enough or it might not. if it does work that would make a perfect butt seam every time i would think.
look into knifeless tape. it helps you leave a perfect cut seam.
its basically a thin plastic type tape with a pull string in the middle. you lay it down on your cut line. use the pull string to cut the material.
i used water like they suggest to clean mine. and i didn't like the way it left it looking.
i have used alcohol on it a few times.
but a normal wipe now and then will help keep it clean
when you see the wrinkles forming on one end. does the other side start to wrinkle also?
it looks like you do have more pressure on one side verse the other which crates extra material and then wrinkles
from what you say the machine should be running pretty decently.
how small is that type. what type of file are you using. could it be software driven issue
i keep the 4 rolls of various print media i use standing up next to the printer. same with the 3 rolls of laminate. anything left that isnt enough to try to reload into a machine just gets tossed. my colored vinyl is on a stand up rack thingy. and still boxed media is on a big shelf. i keep...
keep your area clean. sweep mop.
dont let your prints near the floor
wipe your prints lightly as its entering the laminator
dont have a fan blowing on your prints
your laminator and prints are a high static area and will attract anything it can.
in some situations a hand painted sign gives a much better look. but in others it looks horrible.
kind of like records vs cd's
a record has a special sound that a cd can not replicate. and most of the time you wont notice it or it will make the recording sound worst.
