Try a local commercial plastics warehouse...just be sure you are quoting sign grade poly
  2. Discussion I know my answer already, what's yours...........................

I agree about getting a hold of their branding book.
  3. Where to start?

You have the right idea, start small and work your way up. Unfortunately though the business has changed so much that there isn't much money to be made doing what what can be bought on line for half the price. Hopefully you can find people willing to pay for small custom products that they...
  4. Large vinyl murals on foam core advice

Yes, unfortunately you have the wrong materials and technqiues combined with inadequate skills...The only thing I can think of that may salvage the job is to stretch the banners on a frame like you would a large canvas for a painting.
  5. What would cause vinyl discoloration like this?

That doesn't appear to be a wrap....just a contour cut print. Cheap materials will fail quickly and 3-4 years is actually not terrible with extreme exposure. ...but 4 owners in 5 years? wow, I would anticipate more issues with previous jobs
  6. Mounting HDU to 4x4 post

I've used aluminum without any adverse results that I know of. I've also used ACM and Alumalite. I don't like using anything with wood after issues of wood rotting when we first started using HDU
  7. Mounting HDU to 4x4 post

Single face signs right? In that case and at that size .080 is fine. I like the idea of mounting the o80 first then fixing the HDU to that. You can us a construction/polyurethane adhesive and screws into the back.
  8. "No show bolt" install of aluminum panel

As per Mozes suggestion, Lexel combined with VHB, but I know there are exceptions.
  9. "No show bolt" install of aluminum panel

I like that idea. I would probably bend some .063 or 080 to make a custom sized bracket that is the same width as the crossbar
  10. "No show bolt" install of aluminum panel

Why not VHB & adhesive the panels directly to the crossbars? You'd have a lot more surface.
  11. Need Help Best plastic substrate for exterior osha signs

I also would suggest ACM, but if the insist on plastic I would use polycarbonate. We did a large job for an industrial client that wanted No Trespassing signs that weren't metal, because scrappers stole the metal ones. We screened white lexan and they have been up for at least 10 years.
  12. Need Help Vinyl on the awning sign

If it's a vinyl awning cast vinyl should work. To deal with the angle see if you can rent a lift that has an extendable floor
  13. Removal of dimensional letters

Doesn't matter how they are mounted, the wall will need refinishing. Unless maybe they used 3m command strips:rolleyes:
  14. Removal of dimensional letters

With that setup I would recommend removing the existing logo have the clients painting contractor patch and repaint the whole wall (unless you want to handle it also) and then install the new logo
  15. If somebody has not paid for a sign, do we have the right to go take it back?

The answer is no, once installed it is their property. There are various legal means to collect the debt depending on the details. And yes, people do midnight repo, I did at one shop I worked at and the cops were at the shop the next day, but we had the sign stashed in another location. And as...
  16. Matthews Paint Last Outdoors

"What about One Shot? Is that better than Matthews Paint?" No
  17. Who the f*&^ does this??

Ok, I will admit to pop riveting a lexan face a time or two back when we serviced stuff we didn't make. This was usually due to a missing hanger bar, or none at all, or too small retainers, and only rivets on top. Never a retainer though.
  18. "Vintage" Neon Sign Needed - built

Only place I know is Elm City Neon, Hamden CT. I would think Texas would have some shops
  19. Matthews Paint Last Outdoors

I thought Matthews was a "basecoat" paint that can be used with or without a clear.
