I was hoping to find something ready to apply off the roll. And yes they want it for privacy, but to still see thru and they like the way it looks and works.
So if I applied regular unprinted perf to the inside of the glass it would work the same?
I have a client who wants to have some large store windows covered with window perf.
They had some printed window perf on the outside but it got picked at too much so it is coming off.
They still want the window perf but installed on the inside.
I want to apply perf on the inside and then apply...
CNC, there are lots of people with printers and you can buy from wholesale places really cheap. But CNCs aren't as common, would be a lot more fun, and dimensional signs are a smaller and more profitable market.
We've done a few small ones. We used a stable substrate like ACM or MDO, glueing and screwing the old lumber to it. Sometimes adding old rusty bolts for effect thru the face. As far as fire proofing I do remember using some clear fire retardant "paint" back when I did theater scenery, probably...

Your client wants you to handle the whole project, so you are acting as the "General Contractor". Get a mason to provide the specs, get the permits and build the base. Then you do the permit for the sign. And add the cost of your time for doing the legwork.
for a 4x4 ACM between two posts you can use an aluminum angle the full length, or mounting clips, or you can do frame like Texas did. It depends on budget and the purpose of the sign.

Sloppy install and I would never do work that looked like that...but at least it's well secured. Sometimes we're amazed with what other sign companies get away with. Our regular customers have come to expect a certain level of quality and that's why they keep coming back and refer others to us...
