  1. JV3-160SP Kicks from Remote to Local mid-print

Ripping Flexi 7 to Production Manager. Mid-print, JV3 will stop running and move from REMOTE to LOCAL. Am I looking at a RAM issue or something in the printer? This issue is not consistent. Also, at times, when adjusting quantities in Production Manager the JV3 will produce a few number of...
  2. Need a 7' Bowling PIn

These guys are awesome, and right around the corner from our shop. We've collaborated on a couple unique projects. creativeartsinc.com
  3. JV3 160SP printing previous jobs without resend

    Thanks. Yep, we're running FireWire.
  4. JV3 160SP printing previous jobs without resend

Flexi 7.5. Thought the file was gone for good, as we ran this morning without incident. However just after noon, the same stupid little file printed after putting the printer back in remote after another job. The random job that printed is no longer in production manager, yet its ghost seems...
  5. JV3 160SP printing previous jobs without resend

Thanks. Will try that. We let it run out a bit last night and it seemingly started to loop, printing the same image several times. Will start fresh this morning.
  6. JV3 160SP printing previous jobs without resend

Odd problem today. Had a color issue with a file and took the printer out of remote and shut down. After reboot, the printer began printing a small file that we had run the previous day (and had not been resent). Shut down again, and it did it again. We thought it may be a production manager...
  7. Inconsistent background color

Not sure this is a Mimaki problem, but I'm starting here. This weekend we were printing Avery 1005ez on our JV3 160sp. The image was created in Photoshop CS6 and ripped in Flexi. We printed in horizontal panels of 16 feet. The background consisted of a range of blues. In only the top...
  8. Sand Paper Grit???

We run a deburring tool over most cut substrates to remove those sharp edges. If finishing a piece for presentation, we'll wet sand and flame polish, as others have mentioned, but it sounds like you're just looking for a quick clean up on the edges.
  9. Printable Magnetic material any good?

We tried it years ago when we first got our Mimaki. We didn't like thinner mag required for the printer and quickly returned to psv applied to our regular .030 magnetic material. No print issues, however.

  11. Lowballing at it's finest on vans

I think Gino was onto something. If he had actually put the text of the Gettysburg address on the van, it would have cleaned up the layout, and been more interesting to read. Yeesh.
  12. Mimaki JV5 vertical banding

Not intending to hijack the thread, but I've seen this from my jv3 from time to time and am interested in hearing more about your question about humidity. How would that create this? Thanks.
  13. Test print

Ouch. Never seen a wiper holder like that. Oddly the mark on the head looks a little like a capping plate to me. Are those still in place?
  14. Test print

    X2
  15. printing - amount of passes

We've found that 720/720 8 pass is the sweet spot for our JV3. We'll print uni for small copy and tight registration. Most of our output is with these settings. For quick-turn banners we'll drop to 360/540, but only when speed is more important than quality. As for ink consumption, I asked...
  16. 2,300 rivets and a cortizone shot later...

Nice work. Can't help but be curious about the differential for installation costs in dealing with the corrugation.
  17. Larger then normal canvas prints

Would love to see and hear more...
  18. Mimaki jv3 printing issue

Have you run a test draw?
  19. Customer changes mind after approving proof and receiving banner.

Not always the case, but it seems like the cost in time and energy of deciding what to do here is greater than the cost of fixing it. We'd reprint the banner and move on.
