    so true...you don't even need a flatbed - in many cases. I print "wood products" all day everyday on Epson 9800 - waterbased inks R2R printer. I print on veneer, then mount it on a substrate - whatever it may be - plywood, or whatnot. No worries about warped boards, headstrikes, board weight...

    don't know VW, I use a different RIP, the concept is - make your file the size of the image, choose the distance between repeats - or print the same in a row, once the row is printed, manually advance the media and print the next row. Little illustration of what I'm talking about:

    I think it's called "custom ink set" in Wasatch, basically it will turn off all the channels but black. I use a different rip for the same purpose - almost, I turn off all the "light" crap

    the answer is right there in your explanation - BodyPaint 3D will do it, so will Animation Master, it's called uv mapping
