  1. Convert PS Shape into Clean AI Vector

Thanks... I have run Photoshop since 2.0, just not AI. Vector Doctor, yup, you made that look pretty darn easy. Nice work.
  2. Convert PS Shape into Clean AI Vector

    Thanks.
  4. Door Sign Help!? Conundrum

I have a client who wants a glass door sign with their custom logo to be mounted on the inside of his door facing out... Typically, I would use vinyl in a color the client wants, kisscut, weed and mask the vinyl and apply it. Easy-peasy. However, I need to have custom colors for this job... Ok...
  5. Lining up panels on a tradeshow booth

I like the idea of the steel tape. I can see how that might be just the ticket... One thing I have found, is that even though the display expands itself and magnetically connects to form the structure, when we are putting the displays on, the frame can use a little "tweaking". It's mostly just...
  6. Touch Up Markers/Ink for Solvent Banners?

Thanks. Sharpies were the obvious choice, just didn't know if there was some found/ tested better alternative.
  7. Touch Up Markers/Ink for Solvent Banners?

Hi All, I have a banner (or two) that sometimes when handling it will crimp after it has been printed and screws up the image. Nothing major, but it does show up. Instead of reprinting and wasting time and materials, I am trying to find some sort of markers, pens, inks or something that I can...
  8. Best Value for Flatbed Printers

Whatever you do... Avoid the Rastek. I have had nothing but problems with my H652. No, it isn't the "best value" per se. We got a good deal on it price wise, but it has been a nightmare in it's operation. Maybe others have had good luck with it, but I would not recommend it.
  9. Just finished logo design

I have to agree with the OP. You ultimately do what the client wants. You can offer them your opinion, but you can't tell them what to do. They are paying you, not the other way around. The design isn't quite what I would have done, but I have seen much, much worse as I think we all have. All...
  10. Easy, but can't find this font

Seriously, are you a font savant? Good lord man, it amazes me how you nail these. I can't keep fonts straight to save my sans serif...
  11. Subtrate for window graphics

Good luck. Let us know how it turns out...
  12. Subtrate for window graphics

Gatorboard all the way. It really is much tougher than you think. It also mounts very well. Just make sure you get any dust off of it first...
  13. $4500 CNC....even cuts concrete

I have a Zund CNC that is probably one of the best on the market, and even it screws up jobs. I would be scared sh**less every time I fired that thing up... CNC's are like good dogs, they do exactly what they are told to do, sometimes have a mind of their own, and will bite you in the backside...
  14. ::::Mimaki Megenta Half head blocked::::

I should have refreshed.... I have seen it get worse before it got better. Patience grasshopper...
  15. ::::Mimaki Megenta Half head blocked::::

Maybe a dumb question, but you have you done a "fill up ink" function? You didn't mention it. I have sometimes had to do it a few times to get the head back. I also have bulk ink.
  16. Cost of Operating

So, I just came across this post... Yeah, it gets real expensive, real fast. Even if you can amortize the of cost your printer, it still takes a hit on profits. Your margins are narrow, your turn around times are often unrealistic, and yes, your beautiful, expensive brand new printer will crap...
  17. Best Wrap Certification

So, it seems like nobody really answered the OP's question... Does anyone know of a good "training" program/class for learning the tricks of vehicle wraps? Preferably on the West Coast? Thanks
  18. CG-130 FX Plotter Cutting Problems

Unfortunately I get the same results from the "square cut" test, so I don't think it is the file. Also, I am not building the files as they are being made in pre-press. Thanks for the info though.
  19. CG-130 FX Plotter Cutting Problems

I will give it a try. Based on your blade depth recommendation, I might be too long... I have no idea if it is a "mimaki" blade holder. It looks like one!
  20. CG-130 FX Plotter Cutting Problems

Hi All, I have the Mimaki CG-130FX plotter and I am having a heck of a time getting it to cut cleanly. I have a new 30 degree blade, my pressure is set to 100, speed at 20. I am simply trying to contour cut lettering on vinyl. I have set the blade depth to as low as it will go and still make a...
