Our shop generally does signage and commercial vehicle graphics and wraps, but occasionally we get folks in doing colour changes etc.
But recently, we're getting call after call about chrome delete and black wraps on chrome emblems and trim. Almost daily requests. Why the big popularity now...
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has made their own textured wall installation tools, because the "pro" tools available are wildly overpriced, for what seems like a basic foam roller.
What alternative tools do you use for textured walls?
Thanks!
I'm an installer for a sign shop and whenever we have jobs that require tiling 2 or more large graphics they never line up perfect. I thought maybe I was stretching the vinyl during application but I've tried lining up the graphics on the table at the shop and it still won't stay perfect. Is...
I think my old age is getting me now. We have a S2 t-160 series cutter and the blade we have been using needs changing. I see where Airmark recommends a 45° blade as standard, a 36° for reflective and a 60° for sandblast medias. I was under the impression a 36° would be the best for universal...
As title suggests..
My customer orders large quantities of cut vinyl graphics from me in a few specific colors that they use to install onto equipment that they sell to end users. (They're a manufacturer).
They approached me with a request for rolls of the same colors of vinyl, that they need...
Using a Roland vp540, how can I cut a cookie stencil?
The machine can cut vinyl but I'm not sure how much thicker it can cut. I cant use vinyl because it will stretch and distort the cutout so I was thinking something thicker but something that the 45 or 60-degree blade can cut?

A small startup with signage. Anyone here who could help me learning about decals. I believe there are three major categories of decals which are
1. Window Decals
2. Wallpaper Decals
3. Car Decals
All I know about these types, I believe there are plenty of other types out there. I there...
Is there a good masking to protect vinyl from matthews paint without bleeding. I have had some luck with a product called oramask that is blue but it leaves adhesive on the vinyl.
I am curious if anyone has any advice for the best type of digital/print vinyl/adhesive to use with metal kegs. Being that kegs sweat I wonder if one vinyl is superior to another.
Hello,
We're based in Belgium, we're a carwrap company and we do color change and print wrap.
We generally use Arlon SLX (or 3M) for print wraps but I saw lately that Oracal is very famous (at least in the US).
Or customer (our team also btw) are bored of using always same flat-white vinyls and...
I just bought a used GCC Expert II LX and have my trial of Great Cut. Ive use industrial cutters before so I feel like many basic settings would carry over but I just cant figure this software out! Decent tutorials just dont seem to exist out there for it for what I need to do.
Im not really...
Hi
I need a suggestion regarding what material to use on a sign that can stand outdoor for 10 years.
That won't fade and look the same as new.
Please both vinyl and laminate.
Thank's Annette
Morning!
I have a 54" cutter - and a graphic - single color - white that has no natural breaks in design. It's a 72" x 57 tall large circle. Will be cut, weeded and masked - installed on retail window. So all I can figure is I am going to have to overlap somewhere. I haven't been in this...
Hi y'all! I'm in search of a thin reflective vinyl for somewhat intricate cuts and only know of the Oralite 5300 as the thinnest at 3.5mil. Curious to see what other brands there out that are similar or thinner that I may not know of as I'm new to this sort of thing.
Thanks!
Does anyone have the curvature angle for the BOTTOM of a Veloster windshield for a vinyl banner? I don't have the car, but am going to be making a few banners and want them to follow the curve as best as possible. Thank you in advance for any help.
Hey all, hopefully one of you can help me out.
I was plotting on the Mimaki this morning and it looks like the blade pulled back on a large section of the vinyl and backing and got jammed. I cleared out the vinyl and wiped the blade no problem but now my pressure settings are all WAY off...
Good Morning,
I'm new to this community but certainly not new to message boards/forums.
My dilemma is this....
I have a graphics guy locally I am using but lately has been a little flaky as far as meeting deadlines and such, as well as the cost of getting graphics made (obviously I'm aware...
A person came to us today very frustrated by a body shop close to me. They were supposed to remove old vinyl and apply new vinyl that was provided.
This is on a "classic" vehicle that has a pretty good body. The paint was black, you can see my reflection taking the picture.
The person comes to...
