I do it wet. Line it up and tape it. Make a hinge, peel back half and wet the vinyl and acrylic. Then just drape it over and work middle out. I've done 4' x 20'+ this way by myself, having a second set of hands does help. We very rarely use air egress on acrylic since 95% of our applications are...
Replace it when the printer tells you to (0%). We only replace early if we're running the printer through the night and are concerned that some inks may run out with no one there to change it (which will cause the job to error out).
We keep 2 extra cartridges of each as well, had plenty not...
Which version of Onyx? I've noticed some communication issues after we upgraded to v12. If you go to the Current Media and Page Size settings, if you just hit the refresh button does it pull the size?
I plan on reinstalling the printer in Onyx to see if it helps when I get a chance.
We would leave about a foot between the top of the post and the bottom of the rail as recommended by the manufacturer. But I never thought the post was needed.
Depends on the size. If it's not massive then I premask and install dry. If it's huge then premask and wet install. This is assuming no laminate on the print.
I have this happen occasionally with some files our other designer has set up. Same thing when I look at them they're fine but I get the double paths in Onyx. I think it has something to do with how the actual path is made or how the file is saved, I should watch her set the file up next time to...
Had a guy calling for 2 days straight that he needed his posters done ASAP and asking when we would have them ready. Still sitting here a week later... His shop is literally down the road from ours.
We only rent for installing murals or high up windows and the such. At that point our cost is our cost unfortunately, but we've never had complaints about the additional charges. If we're not installing vinyl then we have 2 companies that we contract the work out to like take down and put up of...
We would send this to Factor Forms, just got 5000 2" circles in today coincidentally.
While we could do this in house and we have done similar in the past in a pinch, it just makes a lot more sense for us to send it out and have the manpower working on other jobs.
Thanks, I never saw that stuff, gonna have to give it a try. We did try a lot of Ultraflex stuff, I don't think we ever tried the PET though.
From what I gathered Bannerbrite and TVF are the same, while Ultraflex is seperate. We had a bunch of 18oz banner we were doing pole banners with, the...
I'm always jealous when you post your materials and prices, people seem to like them as well.
It's different up here and can be hard to find certain things unfortunately.
Any fellow Canadians here found a good gray back material for banner stands that runs well on latex at a decent price point?
Our main suppliers are ND and Grimco and the only one they seem to have is Sihl, which I'm not very keen on.
I would only heat and stretch if the ridges are very shallow. Otherwise, feed the vinyl in as you work from top down. I would keep the liner on for the bottom half so you can make a pole and control it easier. You can compensate in your design by stretching that portion using the masking tape...
The only thing I could get to was the diagnostic menu.
I ended up replacing the encoder strip and sensor. Looks like it did the trick, I'm pretty sure it was the sensor not the strip though.
