  1. Signs 365 shocking service

Placed an order for several coro signs and a banner from Signs 365 Tuesday. The packages were printed and shipped...and just happened to be on the UPS plane which crashed in Birmingham yesterday. Signs365 apparently received the notice from UPS, immediately reprinted the signs and overnighted...
  2. Christmas Festival logo help

First and last are the same. I'd delete the first one but then people would get confused and think you were drunk and the whole thing would digress into a discussion about adding ladders and doing freebie work so I'll just leave it. There was also this one that I sent the mayor when I was...
  3. Christmas Festival logo help

So....I get the joy of designing a free logo for my hometown Christmas event and I'm just not feeling it. The logo is going to have to be used for the car show, beauty pageant, tree lighting, bridge lighting, boat parade, street parade, street party, water skiing Santa Claus, art show, quilt...
  4. To Roland or not to Roland.

    Roland sucks. Period.
  5. Enough is enough already............................

I'm having the same problem with Magnum Magnetic. The magnetics from the last couple of rolls begin to curl on the edges within days. It doesn't matter if it's cut vinyl or digital prints I get the same reaction. They feel like they always have and the stick the first time like normal...
  6. Waivers?

I've always told them up front it's going to look like crap. It will look like somebody half-assed patched over the top, there will be bubbles, possibly wrinkles, and the patch might even look crooked. Never had a complaint to my face, I'm sure there have been some somewhere else. You're...
  7. 2013 International CorelDRAW Design Competition entries are in.

Incredible work Joe. I love the way with this and the Stella's ad there's enough really good Victorian era sign design (combined with the great concepts and illustration) to add an air of authenticity to them. Poster time!
  8. sad day as handmade sign is about to be lost

Save it, have the glass trimmed closer to the image and frame it. The crack through the middle will make it cooler.
  9. If you use windows to design it won't work with a mac...

You want PC/Mac ignorance? I lost a MAJOR account that had been happy with my work for 15 years because I use Windows. The owner's son went and got himself a marketing degree and apparently all he "learned" was that "PROFESSIONAL" designers use Macs and if I was using Windows I was a hack...
  10. Anyone recognize this font?

Looks like Slate with the capital Y substituted for the lower case.

  13. Sometimes the irony is TOO much....

I see no irony there. Nowhere on that flyer does it say "GOOD" graphic design.
  14. Turn key sign shop for sale Deal or Dud?

You mean job owners with opinions about things they've never dealt with.
  15. Logo Critique

At least half the "no budget" logo designs I do fall into the rehashed template category.
  16. Turn key sign shop for sale Deal or Dud?

Damn, apparently this place is eat up with mechanics, lawyers, and investment brokers.
  17. Don't Laugh

Love the font ID requests. They're the first thing I click on if I see one without any replies.
  18. Logo Critique

You can't get those kind of prices around here.
  19. Logo Critique

Second post, one on the left. Lose the prismatic copy and hand vectorize the motor and I think it'll be pretty cool. Make the motor larger, maybe even to the point it runs outside the border. Don't tuck it behind the bar over the name. That all probably sounds like a lot....small tweaks...
  20. A little rebranding.... Thoughts

Hey, dammit, I put in effort equal to the amount I was paid. Cut a brother some slack. :Big Laugh
