Did you check this? I highly doubt it's the motor unless the machine has been used heavily.

  3. Roland Warranty?????

Again, just trying to be helpful: The USB port is part of the main board on the GX plotters. As far as I know, Roland has no repair for the USB port. They spec replacing the entire main board when the USB gets damaged. I'm going to step out now, I hope you get some resolution on this...

  5. Roland Warranty?????

We are a Roland dealer. You said this was the 2nd time Roland has fixed the USB port on the machine correct? I can tell you damage caused to ethernet/usb/serial ports caused by mishandling the cables is not covered under warranty. I've personally stepped on an ethernet cable on a XJ-640...

  7. Mutoh SC-1400D not sensing pinch rollers!

Take a look at the broken pulley below. It's from a Graphtec FC-7000 that had the exact same problem as you have. To diagnose, hold the speed reduction pulley (the larger pulley on the shaft), and try to move the cutting carriage. If the cut carriage moves but the speed reduction belt does...

  9. Please read if your are considering Arlon GTX

Getting replacement product for material that was clearly used outside of it's intended use is pretty good in my book. You don't sell Avery or Arlon, which of your material manufactures pay for labor/ink/overhead/travel/pr damage/ etc, that come from a product failure? Are you saying you are...
  10. Please read if your are considering Arlon GTX

Thats an interesting question. Our inventory of Arlon digital is set to turn over every month. Meaning every month, our objective it to replace all stock of Arlon. While this does not always happen, we come pretty close. IMHO if all distributors did this the product supply chain would be...
  11. Versa art RS-640 - First real printing problem

Roland had a press release not long ago about the importance of custom profiling with this machine. Basically, because the drops of this new printhead are so small compared with the previous DX4 heads, profiles are not as generic. Give it time, more 3rd party profiles will be available.
  12. Please read if your are considering Arlon GTX

I do not speak for Arlon. However, I can say that we have sold thousands of rolls of Arlon products since 1990. Arlon makes a great product and stands behind it. We have had a handful of issues over the years which Arlon ALWAYS took care of. In my opinion, it's not the issues you have, it's how...

Can someone post a picture of the cartridges in question? If you have a Falcon outdoor your can use the VJ cartridge, remove the chip, and put your foil sticker on...

Do you happen to have a Mimaki?
  15. Roland White Ink ICC Profiles

Bingo! Also, after you update versaworks sometimes it helps to: start->programs->RVW->initialize application. You will need to re-enter your printer IP address but all the profiles in versaworks will be updated.

  18. Epson GS6000

The Epson GS6000 chassis was built by Mutoh, it is very similar to the VJ1614/1618.
  19. Help choosing next RIP -- Wasatch or Onyx??

If your going with the new Latex ink I would also check to see which software has more profiles avaliable for download, Unless of course you're going to be making your own. Also, welcome from just around the corner. What shop do you work with? Let me know if we can help you out with Roland...
