  1. Canned Air...

Thank you for posting the info. I saw that on Amazon a while back, but the reviews were so bad, I'll stick with the canned air. Multiple people said it doesn't put out the kind of pressure that canned air does which is a necessity. They said it's even worse when you use the attachment that...
  2. Canned Air...

Those work nice for tiny jobs, but not so much for cleaning masonry dust off a wall and fixtures and/or cleaning out a large number of holes.
  3. Canned Air...

When I install interior stud-mounted letters I use a cordless DeWalt vac to clean dust and debris from the holes before installing the letters. But when installing outside, I use canned air to clean the holes as well as dust from the letters, the surrounding wall, etc. Works great, but stinks...
  4. price to replace neon with LEDs in channel letters

Kind of a broad statement (question?)...
  5. Removing VHB from sheetrock

If there wasn't silicone used, you can have a sign/letters off within seconds. Fishing line with handles (dowel cut to length etc) and you're golden. No gloves needed. Also a plumbing saw can kink and scratch wallpaper. It works and I've used it, but I prefer fishing line.
  6. Removing VHB from sheetrock

Use a 50 pound fishing line to slice between the numbers and the Sheetrock. The remainder of the VHB will have to be removed with good old elbow grease. Sometimes a vinyl squeegee will work as well. Usually fingers work better though.
  7. SDS Drill..................

Hilti is overkill (pricewise) for drilling 3/16" holes. That Makita should serve your needs just fine.
  8. Tx State House Bill 1352 & Tx State Senate Bill 803

The information is accurate. Stings operations have been and are being conducted to catch individuals & shops who are quoting electrical sign jobs and are not/do not employ a Master Sign Electrician.
  9. Super Mario Bros.

    Now do Zelda!
  10. Anyone able to do this

    Cool sign.
  11. Quote for pair of large banners

I've used 4over for banners and was happy with what I received. My next stop is Signs2Trade for comparison. I believe their prices are cheaper than 4over.
  12. New to backlit signage

Most of your questions will be answered by performing a standard site survey. Visit the site, bring some tools, see how the sign is manufactured, how it comes apart, etc. Measure the size of the face and as mentioned, sell them a new face with new graphics.
  13. installing 27' x 200' banner on building

SignComp's tension frame would work. But that's a long time for a banner to be up. Also, most municipalities won't allow a banner for anywhere near that long. Not sure if you've looked into that or not, but that would be my first stop - confirm whether it's allowed or not.
  14. Work in progress...

I don't get why people do that. If a company name was 'My Three Sons Moving Co.', using three suns for the logo wouldn't make sense. I think it makes the business look unprofessional...possibly linguistically challenged. Not the look I'd want especially for a tattoo business. Again, not your...
  15. dibond expansion?

ACM expansion is nearly identical to aluminum.
  16. Airport sign falls down-kills boy

This isn't an engineer's issue. Signs are frequently estimated one way, then engineered differently than they were estimated, and then manufactured differently than they were estimated or engineered. It happens all of the time. Unless there's something not obvious being shown in that video, this...
  17. Another SDS (combo) deal...

I'll preface this by saying I have no clue how either of these will perform - but I'm pretty hopeful. The reviews are really good. This deal includes a cordless SDS rotary hammer and a cordless oscillating tool. If you've never used one, the oscillating tools are life savers. Originally the...
  18. Anyone else affected...?

Thanks everyone. Markus, my fam is fine, but there may be groups set up to accept donations down there. Thanks for offering!
  19. This should end your day with a smile..............

Our Dachshund is my office assistant...
  20. Cruise ship wrap

My wife and I have vacationed up there. I'm very jealous of where you live. :) We just spent a week up in McCall a few months back. Makes it hard to want to go home.
