Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. When you mention 20% profit margin - are you talking net? I guess I could talk to our accountants about depreciation schedules etc. for equipment but I feel like that would be more for tax purposes, they have no idea how long well maintained print...
I'm wondering if you guys can help me out with something I've been struggling with for a while and I'm at a dead end.
We're having a close look at our expenses and overhead, and just wanting to make sure we're charging enough to cover our overhead and make enough profit. The previous thread...
Nice! This was the big announcement they have been teasing about?
Between this and the new Colorado.....I might just have to look at some upgrades down the road.
Of all our equipment, our old Arizona 318gl has been the most reliable and the service has been top notch.
I've been having the same issue happen, but only when using a custom 300x900 profile. When we use our 600x600 profile we don't have any issues like this.
In your picture - I suspect the vertical stripes are where the media buckles a bit near the pinch rollers and since it sits higher up, the...
We wipe with 50% water 50% IPA with a fairly wet micro fiber cloth, then buff dry with another clean dry cloth. Long even strokes parallel to the sheet.
Not 100% foolproof but works most of the time. And we only have to do this with sheets that have been handled...otherwise buying coro by...
We apply premask to printed/laminated graphics every day - it definitely does pull off okay and will not damage the print.
Same idea as printed/shape cut graphics.
I personally like using 3M SCPS-55 because it sticks to air-release liners, but any premask will do the trick with the coverage...
Hmm. I guess if you break it before you fit to path it won't do it properly right?
What if you edit the gradient to radial after fitting text to path? Kind of a roundabout way (no pun intended) of doing it but since it's a simple gradient it might work.
Start improving that ratio - 50% relying on one customer is a disaster waiting to happen.
Get to a point where it wouldn't hurt if you fired them, then make it clear that you're not going to take their crap anymore. Money is money, but you don't need someone treating you like that...
Do you have to go through your distributor? When we bought our Arizona (directly from Canon) we tried going through dealers for ink/suppliers etc. (Can't remember why now) and eventually cut them out because it just didn't work. They couldn't stock enough ink for us and when they did they...
I would go to color replacement --> select black with eyedropper and leave at 0/0/0/0. (As balstestrat mentioned, it may leave some objects that aren't exactly the same shade of black, but those won't show on a black substrate anyways)
Then go to spot layer tool and select mask so that it will...
Wow. I don't know what they're using but I would pay a lot of money for something that works that well!
I find it hard to believe that anything that works that well could be bio-degradable though.
Hey jtinker, I know this is a super old thread but was this a Filemaker app that you created or standalone? Looks really well designed! Are you still using it to this day?
Thank you, that is a really good point regarding linear vs sqft. I always struggled w/ sqft pricing due to waste, material yield etc. but using linear should help with this. I am trying to wrap my head around how to incorporate an estimating layout in our FM app, that would have all...
We've definitely had that happen in the past. Like you've discovered it was a combination of too much backing paper on the core (you'd think we'd learn by now) and tensions not being dialed in.
Can really ruin your day when it sneaks up on you! Glad you sorted it out. :thumb:
What we're getting at is that the "correct" profile is obviously still laying down too much ink. The way I see it, there are 3 possible options to solve the issue you're having, assuming that you can't just stop printing on gloss cast media:
1. Lay down less ink (can only be achieved by...
The canned Roland profiles generally lay down a lot of ink. A possible (long term) solution would be to create your own profiles with lowered ink limits so you're not laying down more than you need. (Not what you want to hear, I know)
I have had issues in the past with our Rolands XC/XR's on...
