I tried watching the creating profiles one and there was too many stupid questions by people logged in so I gave up on trying to figure it out. I thought it was for people who already owned printers...some of the questions were so ridiculously basic I couldn;t take it anymore.

did you design in illustrator? If so make sure the cut contour layer isn't a compound path, and they're just separate paths. Good luck.

whoops. Just saw someone else suggested this. I guess i should read whole threads before replying. ALso -- if your carriage bearings are going bad, then your cable has been installed too tight. FIND A NEW TECH ASAP!

I know you had the tech do it, but those plastic clear guides that the cable is sandwiched in can go two different ways and if they're not adjusted right, it won't flow when the carriage moves side to side. I'd be willing to be the tech isn't installing those clear plastic cable guides...

I wouldn't base the print quality of that machine from whatever the roland dealer did...they may just not have a file setup right.

LOL...honestly you may also wanna try another roll of the same material OR cut about 15 feet off and try again...sometimes vinyl has inconsistencies....

Cheap vinyl...returns cheap print quality. Things you can TRY to eliminate the banding...slow the head speed, turn full width scan on on the printer itself, try a different profile. Your settings should be somewhere around 100 / 116F. If those don't work...change vinyls.

Im surprised no one has even considered telling you to switch media all together. Print the same thing on another brand vinyl and see if it goes away....our printer bands on certain vinyl SOMETIMES even with the specific profile for that media...so we switch vinyl and it's gone. Some vinyl just...

After you printed (but before you laminated) did you, by chance, hit the button that reads the media width? I haven't tried it but have been told doing so between printing and laminating will make it not cut or find marks either.

Not enough light on the crop marks..is the room that the printer is in kind of dark? Try shining a flash light on the dots as the printer searches for the dots...

I had this same exact thing happen and started freaking out...I restarted computer, turned off printer and turned it back on, and it worked again....

I used mine a couple hours a day and for the last 6 months haven't replaced anything...I have extra cap tops and wipers here but was just going to wait until they were messed up to replace.
