I have a wt met vs and silver has its uses but if you want a real chrome then it has to be thermal printer as far as I can find out. The edge is possibly favourite due to lack of banding.
The met of the vs works best at lower ink levels on very glossy media. At 100 % its a bit dull and less...
We have a vs540 and a old sc540 proll the vs is wt Mt and using those colours is painful to watch you just have to walk away.
If you want a vs to be near the speed as a sc then it has to be 2x cmyk.
After 2 years with the vs I do love the way the head lays the ink but if I want to do a 8x4 ft...
Need to flip the coin here.
I have a sc540 run mainly with colourrip which is a cut down version of wasatch done for Roland.
It works very well indeed. It would take too long here to type out the instructions so follow the on line help integrated with the software this link my help...
also have a look at the main data ribbon cable as a intermitant break in that will cause it to hic up in the same place every time as it folds and unfolds
working on a new production method
anybody know of a command to fast move the cutting head with the plotter keys.
i know it starts slow then goes faster but want it to go faster still.
Pro2 and VS
as a by the way if you prefeed with the keys to check alignment then its quicker to press set up...
Media bunching will cause that for a perfect cut the media must be flat across the bed. Apart from the cleaning and lubrication the cutting strip must be clean and smooth a touch of polish helps the media slide whilst the knife pressure is on it
Just my experience with mx graphics Roland struggles as only 300 gms pressure you can play about with different knifes but never happy running a machine flat out.
Fc7000 cut it well after modifications to keep the media flat. The media would not track well if allowed to bend over the bed.
A...
We use vinyl 3 max impact and don't seam to have a problem on our vs but was a real pain to get the 3 major colours good enough as the orange is out of range according to two different spectrometer
Once it's fixed loop the cable a couple of times held with a little tape so if tripped on again the loops pull out not the port. Also tidy away better. As long as the board is not cracked repair should be possible with care.
As above plus the media is probably bunching up .
Could be not enough blade showing and too high pressure
Cutting strip damaged so the media won't slide easily
Thanks for that gem of information as I have similar but intermittent problem.
The roller position is read by a eye on the head there is a small vertical blade above the wheel
Do you need one will depend on how much you will pay for it.
I have one with a electrostatic bed wish it was a vacuum one.
New Price is ridiculous but one came up reasonable 2500 and works very well for cutting mx graphics . Magnetic. Card . The beauty is the media does not move so is very...
Use the Roland driver called a Windows printer driver when you get used to the simplicity its wonderful.
To stop it cutting here and there on long multiple jobs group the object so it cuts the groups in order
Your clear coat will give a good finish but will not give the high build of doming resin.
If you try the car clear then spray before weeding. If thick coat weed while still wet.
Too much thinners and the decal will curl
if you have had a 300 before you must have some spare blades to try.
the vs has a nasty habbit of the tip being damaged if the depth is to much as it fouls on the media clamp, if used on thicker than normal media.
look for scoring on the clamp. all so if doing perf cut then a higher chance of...
Lay a long ruler on the glass the straight edge will bow as the lettering will measure the amount of bow. The amount of rise from the two ends. Bend the graphic that amount downwards.
Same for doing a hood as you call it.
