we do it with our rolands all the time but like gino said use the high quality setting for the best results (if it's not critical, depending on what the artwork is, standard mode is fine) and if it's out doors definately laminate. i have used nikkalite, oracal and avery all 3 have worked fine

if you go with polycarbonate or any other rigid material we have used up to 10mil thick after that you have issues with head strikes and even the 10 mil sometimes not so good. make sure you have your longer clip/guides on the machine also roll out some slack so it doesn't have too much tension...

i thought it looked like the material might be contaminated in some way. this happened 3 times on the same roll and all 3 times it was far enough in that it wasn't anything i did ( i will save it and show my vender...as if that will do anything..haha)

i tried using lyson inks for a while and then my i had 2 capping stations go. i know that roland no longer warranties capping stations and considers this part a consumable but while using only roland inks i have not had to replace anything since and i have another roland that never had any...

printing these banners (10 ) and i have gotten a few defects but just wondering if it might be bad spots in the material or just a print error it just looked like it might have soaked in tho the material this way, didn't look like a spray from the heads
