  1. Big Squeegee a HUGE Help!

I still can't say enough about the Big Squeegee. It's been a huge time saver over the last year or so that I've used both my cut vinyl tool and laminating tool.
  2. Birthday present for a 14 yo girl ?

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. I have a 15 year old though and I feel the OP's pain. I think at that age the latest gadget and/or gift cards are the way to go. But I agree. You gotta do more than just the gift card. Get her something personal even if it's something small. I...
  3. Kewanee Walldog Meet.

I wanted to go check it out Saturday but I had an outing to go to. That's a very nice mural.
  4. classic car dealership and garage logo

Sorry, that post I made at work earlier made no sense. Here's what I actually meant... The circular shape to her rear seems too exaggerated.
  5. classic car dealership and garage logo

I like your way of thinking. Good job, Joe. I like the second version the best for the logo. The t-shirt design will be nice with a few minor tweaks. You might wanna try adding the "66" drop shadow behind "Octane" as well. I also think the curve of her butt should only extend to the...
  6. Any body here do clear static vinyl printing?

Since you are in Chicago you could try our local vendor in Peoria, Academy of Screen Printing and Awards. They have reasonable contract printing prices and the quality is nice.
  7. Accurip and halftones

Yep. It does everything for you. It takes about 15 seconds from the time you click 'print' to convert it and begin printing. It actually only takes around a second or two for the actual rip. It's pretty awesome. It does it's thing and you don't even know it's there. You will have to open...
  8. Accurip and halftones

AccuRip and the Epson Black Maxx system work great. We have been using it for over a year now with fantastic results.
  9. What is the best adhesive for polycarb to polycarb?

For smooth surfaces we use Weld On 4 with a syringe applicator bottle. It's about the same as Weld On 3, perhaps just faster setting, but I'm not entirely sure. Keep in mind, the gluing that Moze mentions can be a tad bit tricky. You want to make sure you squeeze the bottle to release most of...
  10. ID This font please

Sistina is pretty close. Maybe this is a modified version.
  11. Billboard Tensioning Systems??

Lind makes a sign spring tensioning system that supposedly works quite well but we have yet to try it. http://www.lindsignspring.com/cms/
  12. Could use some help with this one, please.

Yeah, that one wasn't it. I actually found out it's proprietary to the Federal Logistics logo and they are sending over a copy of the vector files. Now why couldn't they have just mentioned that sooner? :noway:
  13. Could use some help with this one, please.

I tried the usual resources and could only come up with is Fono. Trying to find something closer to this lettering if possible. Thanks for any help.
  14. Tweaking my Logo

I really like the one on the left.
  15. Logo Design Mockup base on Pat's 10 minute logo

This is what happens when your graphic designer can't draw stick people... http://thoughtcatalog.com/2013/the-dangers-of-bad-graphic-design/
  16. Logo Design Mockup base on Pat's 10 minute logo

Sadly I am under the misinterpretation that a graphic designer should in fact be an illustrator, or at the very least a seasoned photographer. Having an art background is certainly helpful if you plan to be successful in graphic design and I personally think that one who lacks that background...
  17. Logo Design Mockup base on Pat's 10 minute logo

I suppose that is true to some extent. However, if an artist is able to better understand things like spacial relationships, contrasting elements, color theory, and creative techniques you cannot deny they are likely better suited for the task. I won't' say it's impossible, but why would such...
  18. It was time to upgrade my cutter but now I am pretty lost ;)

I'm not sure what all you get with Corel when you buy it online, but we bought the retail box package (Corel Draw X5 Suite) a couple years ago and it has a DVD that includes some VERY helpful tutorial videos with some guy from New Zealand, Australia, or somehting. His accent is really annoying...
  19. Logo Design Mockup base on Pat's 10 minute logo

If you are not an artist, how can you ever become a decent designer? The answer is you can't. That's like telling a "garden tool" that she'll make a great housewife.
  20. What vinyl to use for long-term outdoor sign (printed)

We use 3M IJ180C as well for long term outdoor signage along with Primer 94 to seal the edges of the substrate.
