Usually that is going to be a damper issue. If you haven't changed them in the last 1 to 2 years I suggest changing them first. Same with the cap top if it hasn't been changed in the last year or so. While in there I would also flush the pump tubes to make sure they aren't clogging up.
You could try running the Z origin sensor adjustment in service mode but the fact that it's coming and going seems like the encoder and sensor are either dirty or failing.
That system halt was added in the most recent service manual. Basically the sensor and encoder that actually determines the height have failed and need to be replaced.
Re-setup the printer using only the CMYK option and see if that changes anything. It's probably seeing a 6 color profile being used but it only has 4. Onyx handles the Clear and White as spot colors, which they are, rather than part of the profile.
This seems electrical to me. The fact that it won't print a nozzle check but still prints something when a job is sent over is very weird. My guess is it's either the print head failing or another board was damaged deeper in the machine. Usually if a fuse blows, the head won't fire at all. The...
The fuse that protects the head circuit is labeled F3 on the main board and is a very small, ceramic fuse not glass. A lot of people miss the little ceramic fuses so I figured I'd mention it just in case. Other than that, check the CR board fuses. It's the board that is above the head where the...
The humidity should be closer to 50% to be in proper specs. It's worth a shot getting that under control. Also, if you are on carpet that could cause static issues. Unfortunately that issue looks like more than static to me but maybe you'll get lucky!
+1 on pressure adjustment. Sometimes it can be within range so you don't get an error but it's fluctuating too much which can cause ink flow issues. If you haven't changed your primary filters in the last year, I would try that next.
The head should already be capped as it's the default position for the printer when it runs out of ink. Don't worry about it. I've recovered heads that sat for months. 1 day isn't going to hurt.
Deflections are usually caused by partially clogged or physically damaged nozzles. When it's a partial clog, it can get worse over time and causes pressure to build up which makes the nozzle fire longer than it should which makes little lines in the print. That could be the case here. Have you...
Check for fuzz on the head but also the head carriage as it could be dragging and causing the issue. Also, if you have a ton of deflecting nozzles in your nozzle check, it could be those deflections causing the issue.
Something is probably blowing the black/cyan fuse on power up. Usually it's a damaged or dirty head cable. Make sure no ink splatter got on the cable leads and also make sure the leads aren't popping off the plastic backer. If they don't look perfect, replace them. Any time a head doesn't fire...
