  1. Removing handlettering on fire truck

Any more most fire departments don't hold onto a vehicle over 8 years, so longevity past that is a small matter. I can't tell you how to get it off, sounds like a PITA especially with the clearcoat over it. We have an in-house body shop here too, so they handle all of the prep. ;) Everything is...
  2. club banner

Good work, only confusion on my part is that I didn't read Monday & Tuesday until the very last... making me think that all of the drink specials were weekend prices. (How "weekend" is at the top & "Mon & Tues" is at the bottom)
  3. .eps files in composer

I have Composer 2.51 & Illustrator CS4 & run into no issues with compatibility (creating art in Illustrator then importing into composer).
  4. Cheap Felt Squeegees

FYI, I am not as happy with the adhesion of the "Stick-It" brand as I am with the other after usign these some today. The Stick-It seems to be lifting from the squeegee somewhat.
  5. Making a PDF smaller

Document > Reduce File Size (in Acrobat) Or change your settings in Illustrator. Possibly the number of vector points is too complex to reduce any further & that's the minimum you get from that original document. Rasterizing the files (save for web) and placing those into another "proof"...
  6. Tile as a substrate

    Where are these tiles installed?
  7. Epson GS-6000

I believe the green issue was fixed with a driver update (search here may find the final answer), as stated, set it up level, then check again. Haven't had any trouble out of ours yet (10 months). Prints great & it's very fast.
  8. Cheap Felt Squeegees

I learned a cheap tip from my MacTac training I went to a few weeks ago on how to DIY felt squeegees for cheap. Take your regular bulk cheapo squeegees & apply felt to the edge. Seems explanatory enough, but how do you apply the felt you ask? Go to your local Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Wal*Mart...
  9. Question about sp540v

I would start with a Pantone Color chart & see how that prints on each material/profile. Then you have to adjust the profile so that it matches the Pantone-to-Process output colors better. I find that using Flexi uses a lot more ink than Versaworks does, and I get truer-to-screen output from...
  10. Corrupted JPEG files using Versaworks 4.0

Sometimes I have had issues with JPEGs saved in CMYK mode or too high of a color mode, can't remember what/where the issue was but changing the JPEG to RGB or a lower-bit color has fixed issues for me.
  11. Installing a sign in Parking Lot

In regards to the depth of the sign post required, that should be spelled out on the permit application & approval forms also, unless this is for a rinky-dink town? We always go 3' as a rule, just to be safe & legal. Make sure you use the free "call before you dig" service!
  12. A great way to END the week off bad!

I would be on-site supervising the new installation the entire time this time.
  13. How do I get this effect?

these links should have PLENTY: http://www.brusheezy.com/ http://qbrushes.net/
  14. Vehicle Cleaning

We buy a chemical from our auto parts supplier's paint department. It is "Wax & Grease Remover" in a gallon can; Advance/Smyth/etc should sell it also. This chemical seems to ride the middle ground in-between xylene & Alcohol. It does great work of removing wax & adhesive (on removal jobs)...
  15. What am I supposed to do with this...the follow up.

the perspective on the light on the roof looks odd to me, otherwise great
  16. Printer Advice for phone skins, laptop skins, game consoles, etc

I know a printer that can print a minimum of ZERO! Any wide format printer will do the trick. Pick one that's got a good deal going on at the time you're buying it & you dhould be fine. Any solvent printer will do the trick; everyone has their favorites but after using a few different brands I...
  17. Totaly stumped and have only bad ideas any sugestions??

Rule is you only have 20 minutes start to finish.
  18. Totaly stumped and have only bad ideas any sugestions??

I am also thinking that your source images may be the main source of problems in this wrap. Also, it is a Cube; which also looks like a PITA to make look nice anyways.... If you're using a room photograph for the background you should try to make the "insulation revealed" area transition...
  19. Photoshop Masters.

Dreamweaver was purchased under that name from Macromedia IIRC.
  20. Photoshop Masters.

Adobe InDesign is where you should be making a flyer if you're Adobe inclined. There is a reason for their names (illustrator, photoshop, etc) correlating to their uses. Once you figure them all out you'll wonder why you weren't doing it that way before (and save a lot of time & headaches).
