  1. Wasatch VS Onyx

+1 for Wasatch Uhhhhhmazing output quality
  2. I need drivers

Hi New Earth Printing, Here's our support center for the Panther: http://www.signwarehouse.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=view&parentcategoryid=50&pcid=45&nav=0,45 We have drivers and documentation. It's made by GCC, so those drivers work as well. You can also call...
  3. printing wraps

Yeah; Flex UV inks are little better from what I hear, albeit spendy and not widely available in the US from what I can tell. And even then, not as pliable as Ecosol. Heck, we'd love to add an Ecosol to your arsenal :^) But outsourcing is a great option, too. If you have the customer...
  4. printing wraps

You can outsource the printing. Many merchants here would no doubt like the business. And as Gino said, UV ink is too brittle an ink for the stretching and shrinking needed to wrap around fenders, etc. You might even be able to partner / swap out with an Ecosol printer user. No doubt they...
  5. Flexi 10 Coming Soon

As the world's largest Flexi dealer, I'll probably get canned for this, but Photoshop is really what to use for preparing bitmaps, then place into Flexi. Even a cheap, older version, of Photoshop (i.e. 7) is the bomb. Photoshop's tools, transparency, layer effects, etc, etc. are just too good...
  6. Some of my old work back in the day before the evil computer

+1 to that Marlene! My friend Greg Reid (http://www.reidsigns.com/site/?page_id=10) was pretty active in the Letterheads meets back in the day. And he was branded a heretic for buying a vinyl cutter when they gained popularity. But talent + technology = uhhhhmazing IMHO, Jim
  7. Wanting to build a new table...

Hi Steve, CuttingMat Crytsal is what they call it in Germany. Not sure about UK dealers, but they have English-speakers in the Windeck office: info@yellotools.com http://www.signmaking-superstore.de/shop/index.php/language/en/cat/c34_Cutting-Mats.html +49 (0) 22 92–921 928 Good luck...
  8. Wanting to build a new table...

Thick, clear(ish) PVC is the bomb. We sold it when I was with Yellotools (www.yellotools.com) and it is on a roll so you can go seamless to 4' x 16'. You can also print a grid to go under and then flip the mat when it wears (years of life on each side). Yellotools USA might be able to fix you...
  9. Your thoughts on New business card

Wow! Love it!!! The retro quality oozes years in the trade. Bravo
  10. Head Replacement on my Mutoh?

"I have the Falcon Outdoor 46. How do I know if they are dx2 or dx3? " Ya got me! No idea. But if you can find parts cheaper, that's a no-brainer. Maybe the folks selling the parts can offer advice on DX2 v DX3 and how to install them. Fingers crossed. Jim
  11. Head Replacement on my Mutoh?

You might find useful information here: http://www.signwarehouse.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=view&parentcategoryid=94&pcid=16&nav=0,16 If not, a call to support (your dealer or Mutoh) might be a good idea. Good luck!
  12. photo conversion

Vecotorize (Corel Trace or whatever) and then lots of cleaning / node smoothing, editing. I'm guessing, without seeing.
  13. Possibly the sickest wrap...

Mind blowing! We blogged it in March (http://www.signwarehouse.com/blog/?p=942). It was done by a Danish company. Definitely the coolest I've ever seen.
  14. Hello from Holland

That's a tough one. NovaJet is going back many years (decade or more) which is a lifetime in wide format printing. Maybe search for a used one and grab the parts from it. You should be able to buy one cheaply, if you can find one. Somewhere in Europe one must be for sale. Good luck. And...
  15. Plotter Repair near Amarillo, TX

SignWarehouse.com in Denison is driving distance, sort of. Also Feller's in OK is close, by national standards. Pretty cool that the Panhandle is surrounded by the world leaders.
  16. dual monitors

+1 on dual monitors. Once you have them you'll never go back! Great for Photoshop; work on main monitor and have tools on the other monitor. Or work in Illy/Corel on one and have email or whatever on the other. You'll save a couple of lifetimes not having to move windows around.
  17. Best Value Printer for Wraps

Hands down; this is the most complete and affordably-priced system in the industry: http://www.signwarehouse.com/catalog_pdfs/2010_2_02_WEB.pdf (page 2 of our newest catalog). Check our Web site for more info: http://www.signwarehouse.com The equipment is also top-of-the-line. And we have...
  18. Books for Newbies

I agree with others on design!!! Usually the sign a of a novice new sign company in town is the poor-looking and ineffective signage that shows up. So templates can help. Check out MR Clipart, and others. For some tips on using equipment and basic techniques, we have some online videos that...
  19. Roland VS 54" vs 540 vs Mimaki JV33 130

You might also want to look into Mutoh, with its Wave Printing. Roland, Mutoh and Mimaki use Epson 1440 heads and are thus similar in print quality. But Mutoh's wave printing really speeds printing while virtually eliminating banding. Plus we offer a private label version (PrismJET) that can...
  20. need something to say to liar solicitors

Verizon must be selling the call list to these telemarketing firms. You should cotact them and raise heck. Maybe trash them at getsatisfaction.com too.
