Yeah turn it on to at least 8 hours. That way it does a cleaning 3 times a day when you aren't using it at all. If you want to save money on waste ink, you can make it more like 12 hours but you run the risk of it drying out sooner. Usually my customers stick around 8 to 12.
I'm not too familiar with Versaworks but it's a standard feature in most RIPs. Usually the feature shows a preview of the image and you can use an eye dropper to hover over the colors to see what the profile has interpreted the colors as. So when you send C100 Y0 M0 K0 the profile might...
Rasterizing vector graphics should be considered a mortal sin in this industry but I see it as people's standard workflow a lot more than I should. I think this is because of the whole spot color and transparencies thing.
The problem in this situation as I see it is, Versaworks doesn't handle...
Do you have auto cleaning turned on? If not, that's the issue. If you do, then I would start by changing the cap top and making sure the pumps are not clogged.
Have valid options for when your printer goes down. Whether that's having another printer around the shop or a good source in the wholesale world, you should be able to finish a job no matter what. Customers don't care that your printer is down. They just want the product on time. You wouldn't...
Usually when the product is described as a flush rather than cleaning solution, it's actually the better quality stuff. Nazdar is also a well known name so I wouldn't worry too much.
Single colors don't normal drop out due to electrical issues. They are almost always ink flow issues. Check if there is air in the ink lines of the black channels. If there is, you may need new dampers.
Yes error 202 mean the head is not genuine but it can also pop up if something is going wrong electronically with the head or even the main board. The fact that it changed to Japanese tells me something must have happened to the main board. I would contact Mimaki and ask them to send your...
Yes. When you don't use color correction it usually prints way too much ink and makes everything look darker than it should and colors will be off in general.
The only way to eliminate the green is to probably have the gradient go from blue to white and then white to yellow. So basically instead of green it will be white in between.
Print it on some Oracal 3641 and laminate with a spray lam and then when the decal falls off after 6 months and he comes back complaining tell him that you can make a professional decal for the price quoted prior.
USB is not supported on the 1304. Even though there is a port for it and you can send jobs to the printer, if you called Mutoh right now and told them you were using USB they would say, "That's the problem". You should be setup on a network.
It's a trend that's happening in all industries. Tons of available workers and tons of job openings but no one is qualified for the jobs. Part of it is University is pushed on kids as the only option and trade schools get demonized as the lesser option for stupid kids. Part of it is the cost of...
The cap top could be bad. We have tried many different versions and some hit and some miss. That being said, if you haven't changed the cap slider yet, it's worth a shot to fix the issue. They wear out over time and can cause the cap to not meet up with the head exactly right and will cause...
I have heard that the printable clear is has a more ink receptive surface than the laminate but in testing I found they both print pretty much the same.
