You are on the right track. Those patterns are created by the amplification circuit malfunctioning intermittently which usually means a bad cable somewhere. Check your head cables and make sure they are not damaged or dirty. Sometimes they become corroded as well. You can try to clean them with...
I am working on a JFX200 and have a weird issue going on. It's a CMYKWW setup. The original problem was the number 8 channel had a Sub Tank sensor error. We changed the sensors and the sub tank. Now we get sub tank overflow errors in channel 8 but there is no overflow. In fact there is no ink in...
If I replace only one head I usually fill it by pulling from the cap. If I replace all of the heads I normally run the ink fill up through the menu. You don't have to worry so much about static as you do the capacitors that drain slowly on the main board and power supply. I would still use it if...
1. Make sure you turn the machine off, unplug it, hit the power buttons a couple times and then wait 15 minutes before working on the machine. This is a little overboard but it ensures you won't do any electrical damage when taking the head out.
2. After taking the head out, clean the area...
It looks like in the printer settings you have overridden the motor speed and made it go faster. That will change the quality of the print for sure. Usually you want to use the default that the profile is setup for since that's the speed it was made at.
Also, a lot of the time you will get that...
Spot colors don't matter if your printer only prints CMYK. If you add white or silver then you have a spot color you can use. They also use spot color to designate cut contours. When you send a spot color to a RIP that prints to a printer that only prints CMYK, it just converts the spot color to...
Why don't you just open it in the RIP? It should interpret the file exactly how it's supposed to be and you can resize it there if you need to. I always open files in the RIP if I can. It cuts down on weird file conversions from different software, it can read fonts that you don't have, and it...
The new style ones are similar to the old ones. I'm not a huge fan of dual channel dampers because they don't always have the same color in each channel. So sometimes you will have one that has cyan in one channel and yellow in the other. So if you are having issues with cyan, you have to change...
Dampers could be causing it but also check to make sure your wiper is actually working properly. Looks like it did a cleaning and just didn't wipe the excess ink.
There are a lot of bi-directional alignments you can do but the one that will tell you the most is the one in the user menu. Go to Menu>Setup>User Type>Adjust Print. You can print the rough pattern and adjust it and then print the fine pattern and adjust that. Then run a print and see how it goes.
Are you sure the head alignment looks good? That looks like classic bad bi-directional alignment.
Edit: Actually on a close look it looks like you may have some electrical issue going on. I would check your head cables and make sure they are clean and not damaged. That's a good place to start...
Honestly, if it's a really good deal and it's in working condition then I would do it. It would have to be a really good deal though. The two main things that make it not such a great idea is there will be no warranty and little to no support. That's a lot of cash to plunk down and not be 100%...
I'm not too familiar with that specific model but a lot of Roland machines don't measure the material directly but measure where the pinch rollers are located. If your pinch roller is not on the edge of the material it will measure short. Also, run the environmental match and see if that helps...
Unfortunately when it comes to heat presses, you really do get what you pay for. The cheap ones tend to fail quicker and have uneven heat units. You probably have a bad electrical component that is causing it to not turn on. The only people who can help you are the manufacturer and the seller...
I have never seen a test print like that and I have seen a lot. Either the encoder strip and/or sensor is super damaged, which would most likely be so bad it would give an error, or there is some sort of electrical issue going on. I would go into the service mode and run the encoder setup and...
There is no official way other than catching it in a measuring cup. Even then, it won't tell you much. You should be changing the cap top once per year regardless and while you are in there you can flush the pump tubes to make sure they aren't clogged. If the problem doesn't go away after...
How much are they asking? Learning how to work on your machine yourself and having a good source for parts will save you more in the long run than a warranty in most cases.
