With a solvent printer you will get at least 3 years without laminate. So don't go overboard on this. Laminating a yard sign or banner is just a waste of time and money at the end of the day.
You are getting intermittent electrical shorts that are causing the heads to fire randomly. I would start by uninstalling the head cables, air dust the terminals, and then clean with 91% iso alcohol. Let dry and then reinstall the cables. Make sure you do this with the machine unplugged and wait...
My first thought was, "Does that Cyan look super light or is it just me?" Also, you can kind of see in the Blue of the RGB that the magenta is overpowering the Cyan enough that it looks purple rather than blue. I'm thinking bad 3rd party inks maybe?
Take the covers off so you expose the pump and tubes underneath the cap top. Bend the tube and wrap some tape around it so it won't allow fluid to run through. Fill the cap top with cleaning solution and cap the heads. I usually let it sit for no longer than an hour. Then just take the tap off...
We sell the JFX200 ink and Mimaki only guarantees us 6 months or longer shelf life left on these when we place a stocking order. So even dealers don't get a full year sometimes. The ink has a 1 year shelf life from manufacture but it takes a while to get to the US and then it sits on Mimaki...
Unfortunately with Flexi you can't add a new model in any kind of official way. I have heard of people adding it in by essentially hacking the software but Flexi will just tell you to upgrade to the latest version.
Start the machine in Parameter Update mode by holding the left and right keys while the machine powers on. Once it boots up, hit the end key once. Then scroll down until you see, "Running Param." and hit enter. Then scroll up until you see parameter #121. Hit enter and change the number from 1...
Your offset setting should be .10 on the 60 degree blade. That will definitely affect the cut quality. Also, if you were having skipping issues, they are almost always caused by a bad cut protection strip. That will also cause cuts to be wavy. Changing the settings, I assume the cut speed...
It depends on a couple things. There is no such thing as a Graphtec Q100. The Vinyl Express Q100 is a re-brand of the Graphtec 8600 series. So what you need to figure out is if the Vinyl Express version can connect to Graphtec's Cutting Master 4 Plug-In or if it may have it's own free software...
Try selecting all and then copy. When you go to paste it, use ctrl + shift + v and it should paste without formatting. Then you should be able to manipulate the text like normal.
The JV3 series is a very old machine. My best guess would be there are some electrical components that are just worn out and not functioning to full capacity. It's probably a bad capacitor on the main board.
It has to be some sort of effect or design method that Rasterlink is not being able to interpret. What if you save the file as a PDF and open it in Rasterlink directly? Does it do the same thing?
I forgot to include a $600 1099 in my taxes one year and the IRS caught it right away and sent me a bill. They definitely check these things even for one individual. When you get a 1099 it means they sent a copy to the IRS too.
I agree. I see more and more of these posts on Signs101 recently. Basic file prep and color correction knowledge seems to be far and few between. Especially when it comes to understanding color spaces in design software. Everyone knows about output profiles but it seems input profiles get...
I've never worked on this machine but error 150 is an air heater malfunction. Either the heater, the board that controls it or the sensor is not working correctly.
