  1. Applying large Pieces of Vinyl To a Dance Floor

Random fact you guys might not know about me.....I just so happen to be a Polka-dancer (well, past 18yrs, recently "retired") traveled the world performing, and not once had I wished the floor was "slippery"! you're twirling your partner, running/dancing in circles, and never expecting your...
  2. Longer Lasting Signs

maybe post pictures maybe of your product and instances of vandalism? sometimes easier to design a sign with a function when you see where/how it is placed. alumapanel is nice, because it's an inexpensive alternative to aluminum. same with Expanded PVC panels, inexpensive & relatively...
  3. Prints are showing up fuzzy

HAH! blast from the past! reading that thread again, reminded me of my frustration half a decade ago :( whatever your course of action may be, or plan to take, keep this thread updated and we'll keep trying to chime-in. I'm resisting the urge to write paragraphs of how to diagnose a problem...
  4. Prints are showing up fuzzy

smh :banghead: just throwing it out there that he can eliminate static as an issue by printing solid colors of CMY as well... post a picture of your nozzle test when u get a chance.
  5. Prints are showing up fuzzy

had same issue with my machine about 4 years of running it. assuming your machine is pristine, your black head is on its last legs. if it was static, you would be noticing this overspray on ALL of your printheads, not just isolated to one color.
  6. Having a hard time finding yellow-green reflective vinyl

fellers sells ORAFOL Reflexite 6" tape rolls for ~$17/yd in that color. otherwise, Advantage has something similiar for about half that price... in full-rolls only :( http://www.advantagesgs.com/Reflexite-V98-Fluorescent-Lime-Green-6-x-50-yds-5-6-rls
  7. Quoting a print job

that's a lotta installed vinyl with quite a slim margin of profit. hope everything goes up without issue... AND without lamination? you deserve a beer if you can pull it off!
  8. Mimaki JV3 160SP Printhead serial number

Error 07 can also come with issues anywhere between sliderboard>ribbon cable>printhead ribbon cable slot including: *bent ribbon cable, causing crease, causing wires to become severed *improperly inserted ribbon cable (very common, if you are unfamiliar) *bent prongs inside the ribbon cable...
  9. L25500 - bleeding all over the floor... anyone seen this before?

prolly bypassed the maintenance kit replacement by only replacing the container/funnel, but not the tube. I had made a similiar mess on my 26500 during replacement, after waiting too long to do so. tube was backed all the way up to the funnel and I didn't realize it until i had disconnected it.
  10. solid color van wrap questions

can always touch-up spots with Black PlastiDip paint. should remove/scratch-off no problem.
  11. Mimaki print test problem

assuming there were no head strikes along the way, it looks like your nozzles are a bit gummed-up. clean everything: capping station, wiper blade, sides of printheads, etc. THEN soak overnight. I do not know if that model has a "nozzle wash", but if it does then run it and power-down/unplug...
  12. How was this sign made?

painted sintra panel with white vinyl graphics applied first surface.
  13. Mimaki JV3-160SP - Grainy print issue....profile?

assuming your test prints are 100%, graininess usually comes from misalignment. plenty of threads here regarding how to fix this. if you were able to fix your issue by adjusting your resolution/passes/direction, then this means that you have selected the mode that is aligned properly but the...
  14. ADA Help - Recognize these?

+1 I noticed this, as well. one would hope, that, whomever you outsource these to would make proper suggestions for compliance.
  15. CNC routing 3/8" 6061 Aluminum with Kongsberg

a sprocket guard need-not be that precise, it is just a cover after all. I am unfamiliar with that machine outside of the print/cuts i've seen on gatorfoam/pvc BUT you should be able to route one no problem assuming you have the right bits for the job. carbide tipped spiral O upcut, and a...
  16. ADA Help - Recognize these?

custom photopolymer on acrylic/sintra backer with bevel. any ADA sign shop/engraver should be able to knock these out no prob.
  17. Framed aluminum with a curved profile to match the building

bout as strong as a solid tube rolled to radius... think of it as a sign face being held-up by a hundred-or-so aluminum angles. Except, since one of the sides of the tube/angle isn't cut all the way through, it helps the aluminum face hold a smooth radius rather than a bunch of ticks around the...
  18. Framed aluminum with a curved profile to match the building

extruded aluminum angle/tubing can be easily bent into a radius, by hand, of enough notches are cut out of it.
  19. Massive air bubble under laminate!

+1 if the print was still outgassing, and your laminate typically adheres despite long dry-time, possible that the vapors outgassing from the gas tank (especially a plastic gas tank) could have accelerated the outgassing of the ink? ...just shootin' from the hip here, but get all that trapped...
  20. Problem black JV3-160sp

what did you do? if you meddled with the dampers, just prior to your current issue, you may have cracked the printhead manifold. It's the black part/tip of the printhead that the damper fits into, and breaks easily.
