  1. How can I stop banners from frailing along the edges?

While this is true, Arlon is a name brand and is not Chinese. At the shop I used to work at we hemmed all sides of outdoor banners unless they were meant for temporary applications. Or you could use non-scrim alternative like the smooth banner they use for trade show displays.
  2. service call 0101

Error 0101 just means the limit adjustment is not complete and needs to be completed before it can boot up properly. Fix the sensor and then run the limit position and it should clear the error.
  3. VersaWorks Not Reading Cutlines.

I meant in illustrator when he goes to save the file. Most of the time if there are transparencies and sport colors, illustrator will show a pop up and let you know there may be issues.
  4. Rounded Corners: Can Anyone Explain This!?

The easiest way to measure a rounded corner is to put a T-Square on it and measure where the straight line begins to break away to form the curve. If it breaks away at the 3 inch mark, it's a 3 inch radius.
  5. Printing problem..

Go into the color replacement tab in Flexi and use the eye dropper tool to select the gray area in the image. Now you will be able to see the values that the RIP has interpreted. So your 40% black might be interpreted as C8% M4% Y0% K 58% even though you only sent K40% the RIP changes the values...
  6. VersaWorks Not Reading Cutlines.

What file type are you saving as? Are you getting any errors or warnings about transparencies? One common issue is if you are using a paper profile Versaworks does not see contour cuts. You have to use a profile that is for vinyl for that option to show up. Also, double check that you have it...
  7. Need Help Roland SP300 converted to a 300v

That would verify a bad head yes. Although I am almost certain it's the head anyway. I'm trying to figure out what goes bad on these heads because although it is rare I feel like I have some heads in my shop that are fine but just need a resistor or capacitor replaced and then they would be...
  8. Need Help Roland SP300 converted to a 300v

If you swapped the cables and both stopped firing it is possible the head is fried. If the fuse was blown that's what should have happened. Unfortunately I don't know of any way to fix a head that is fired just the fuses and transistors on the main board.
  9. Need Help Roland SP300 converted to a 300v

When you did the cable swap did the black and cyan still fire? Most likely you did blow the fuse for the magenta and yellow head. If you are lucky you will have the new style board that has socketed fuses. If it is an older SP300 then it will have soldered fuses. The fuses are on the main board...
  10. Need Help a red head does not pull out

Insert innuendo here lol: Anyway, you probably just have ink build up on the bottom of the head which kind of acts like a glue. You might just need to clean around where the head touches the bracket it sits on with come cleaning solution to see if that loosens it up.
  11. JV33 main board replacement

The latest FW Update tool is 2.9 but 1.0 might work for you. You can change these ink parameters... Custom parameter 95: -1 default, 0 solvent ink, 1 water based Custom parameter 96: -1 default, 1 4 color, 2 6 color +/- w Running parameter 120 0 bypass prefill, 1 require prefill Running...
  12. Job log dashboard

I'm sure someone could make a script or macro to do it but it might just be easier to open the CSV file in excel and grab the info you want from there.
  13. JV33 main board replacement

Replacing the physical board is easy and straight forward. Put all the cables back in to the right spot. I normally take a picture of where the cables went to be sure I get everything back in it's proper place. The board will come with a couple jumper cables. They also come with instructions on...
  14. Need Help TCP Address not connecting

Mutohs don't support DHCP so you have to setup a static address. Make sure the IP address didn't just reset on the printer. It's common on Mutoh ValueJets for the IP to reset back to the default especially if you had a power outage recently.
  15. Brick Wall - Arlon dpf 8000

We sell DPF8000 and have a promotional 2' x 3' sticker stuck on our painted cinder block wall and it has been up for about 8 years. We didn't use a heat gun so the spaces between the cinder blocks has popped up over time. As for the rest of the print it is stuck on there like there is no...
  16. Roland XJ-740 LmLc head not firing after maintenance

Just for the future: If a print head stops printing out of the blue and don't even fire one nozzle it's almost always a bad fuse. If you get even 1 nozzle firing, it can't be the fuse. If a print head slowly stops printing over time, it's usually an ink flow issue.
  17. Roland XJ-740 LmLc head not firing after maintenance

Any time a complete group stops firing out of the blue on those machines, especially after maintenance, a fuse blew on the head board. The good news is it's fixable without having to buy a whole new head board. Before you get it repaired though make sure you check all of the cables that go to...
  18. Print problem

If the image attached had the print head running left to right than it is most likely the heat is too high so the media is buckling which causes the lighter spots on the print. Try turning the heat down, make sure the vacuum is set to high and double check that the media is loaded as straight as...
  19. Need Help Mimaki Cjv30 Error 170 Print Head Lock

The CLKAJST parameter is in the "Cut System Parameters" and should be item number 37 in the list.
  20. LT/RT Pinchroll error/Invalid sheet/0.00" etc.

The issue you described is usually fixed by replacing the cut tool carriage cable. It's a fairly common issue as those machines age.
