  1. Question Mimaki CVJ30-130 INK Cartridge

Call the manufacturer of the ink and ask if there is a conversion procedure. Most, but not all, 3rd party inks are plug and print these days. Also, check out Bordeaux. I know for sure they work great in that machine.
  2. Need Help Customer files with different swatches

That's a good idea too. We used to do that at a shop I worked at and the customers could just pick the color they want and we knew we could print it.
  3. Printer to direct print to Coroplast, Mutoh 1638UV didn't work

Mimaki JFX200 Flatbed UV printer. I have a customer who prints coro all day long on that thing and he loves it. It is going to be more expensive than the Mutoh for sure but if you can afford it, it is a great machine.
  4. Need Help Customer files with different swatches

I have a customer who has two Mutoh 1624 printers and bought them at the exact same time (serial numbers are 1 away from each other) and use the same inks and media. Since he is a perfectionist he noticed that the machines were not matching perfectly and spent the money to have them profiled to...
  5. xc540 cut everithing inside 2 inches instead of 54 inches

When the machine boots up check the display to see what it measured for the width of the material. It may be measuring the width wrong.
  6. VP 540v.... No suction >>> Bad Damper?

If you are just pulling air and the cap top is new, there could be an air leak between the damper and the ink line or there just isn't ink in the lines at all. When you pull the syringe, you should be able to see the damper compress slightly. If it isn't then air is getting in somewhere.
  7. VP 540v.... No suction >>> Bad Damper?

No suction from below means the cap top is bad. Once you get a new one in it should pull the ink down.
  8. CYAN all over my prints !

Woops, I thought it said SP300i. In that case, you can't do a cable swap. I would start by checking the cables for damage, ink splatter and/or corrosion. If they have any of that, replace them. Re-seating the cables may fix the issue as well so checking them may fix the issue. Unfortunately it...
  9. CYAN all over my prints !

Unplug the machine, hit both power buttons a couple times and wait 15 minutes before doing any of this. To do a data swap you swap the cables at the print head from one head to the other. So basically the Black and Cyan head will get the Yellow and Magenta signal and vice versa. You keep the...
  10. CYAN all over my prints !

Did the issue happen before you replaced the cap top or did it start after? I have been fixing these machines for almost 10 years and have never seen that pattern. It seems to me that it would be an electrical issue. You could do a data swap to see if the issue is happening in the head itself or...
  11. Media Clamps..Use Them?

It is better to use them for exactly the reason you are experiencing now. Was the head hitting the media clamps before? If so, they might have been bent which would cause the head to hit them. You could replace them with new ones and it should work better.
  12. Mutoh ValueJet 1204 / Random Blurry Printing

Your encoder disk is dirty or damaged. If you take the left cover off the machine it will expose a clear disk. Clean the dust and grim off of it gently with a lint free cloth and rubbing alcohol. Then see if that helps the issue. If not, you will need to replace it.
  13. Valuejet 1638x bi-directional adjust not working

What kind of issue are you having? Blurry image? Ghosting? Post a picture, It may be a different alignment that is off.
  14. how to remove dampers on vj1324

It would be extremely rare that more than on valve failed at the same time.
  15. VersaCamm SP300 i 30" or Mimaki CJV150-75, 42"

I was replying to the second comment about the speed. Just a disclaimer, I work for a company that sells these machines but I don't get commission or anything like that. I am a tech that works on these machine only. The New Mimaki's are great machines and are built to last. They are fairly...
  16. VersaCamm SP300 i 30" or Mimaki CJV150-75, 42"

Not sure where you got your info but the SP300i is not faster than the Mimaki CJV150-107 and it has a 2 generation newer Epson head so while they technically print the same exact resolutions, the DX7 head in the Mimaki has finer dot placement which makes it crisper looking. The Roland will be...
  17. Cost of running 8600-160?

With the 8600 you want to price per sq foot of the material and not based on the machine since the only consumable is the blade on the machine.
  18. Subscription Based Software

Check out Open Office as well. It has all of the MS type programs including a Database program which is nice. It's free and gets updated regularly.
  19. Mimaki "metallic print color chart"

I think I know what you are talking about and I think I had one a long time ago but I can't find it. This link will give you their Pantone charts that may have something in there like that.
  20. Need Help Roland VP-540 Not Printing Black, Cyan

The first thing to check in these situations is if ink is actually flowing through the head. Disconnect the cap top tube from the pump tube and hook a syringe up to the cap top tube for each color you want to test. With the heads capped, pull the syringe. You should get a fair amount of suction...
