  1. Bracket and Sign update...happy ending

:thumb: Agree on black nuts and bolts.
  2. Working with Cedar

I would first stain the wood whatever color you want for the white wash appearance to be. Next, I would put a light coat of clear urethane on it. The sheen could be whatever. I would use gloss. Next apply another coat of clear. When that is good & dry, I would apply my mask and carve away...
  3. Where can I get padded studs?

Thread a nut onto a stud and weld a washer to it.
  4. Letters on a curved wall

Need a bird's eye view of the wall. In 13', I doubt it can curve that much in that you'd need to bend the letters. If you must bend the letters, how will you pre-drill it and stay with the plan ?? You're gonna be lucky, if you can fit 10 letters on that wall. Sounds too big.
  5. Question Anyone know anything about this......... ??

Was talking to someone at a research kinda place for another company and said they know of and have customers who use the polymeric and it's really good as long as you have good adhesion. Good adhesion is different then weatherablity. That is where it got interesting. I learned a lot from...
  6. WalMart Install 10x8 mural for $240 fair?

Sounds kinda low. If you're slow, sometimes it's better to do something ya like doing for free, rather than making someone else rich. Anyway, I don't understand the need for 3 panels if it's only 8' x 10' ?? It's probably printed on a 30" machine which would probably be a one-man instal. The...
  7. Discussion Forget Tariffs, what about a Pandemic?

I would venture to say, the gear she hasta wear to be around you would be M-O-R-E than enough to ward off any chinese virus.
  8. Need Help Sign Cut Too Short

If the lights don't work and no intentions of fixing them is in the future, just put the wrong size in there and screw it fast. The thing is junk, so just put junk in, too.
  9. Question Anyone know anything about this......... ??

Anything about Polymeric inks for flatbed printing ?? I understand they are made here, in the USofA, and I'm told by people I don't know, they are good and long lasting. Again, by people I don't know. However, the one guy has helped me on several occasions and the other seems to know what...
  10. What paint for PVC?

From old time experience, you need a paint that will bite into the PVC. I'd at least use a lacquer based based paint. I know the latex paints have come a long way, but I haven't found any that resist peeling off of any plastics.
  11. What paint for PVC?

So laminate the red and blue onto black and have nice looking returns.
  12. What paint for PVC?

Believe it or not, but according to the size of these things, Krylon isn't bad and will last at least 5 years outside, but I don't know about red. Anyway, why not just buy the PVC in the color you need ??
  13. Discussion Installed ACM Price Check

:big laugh: tex........... Well, are talking 3mm or 6mm ?? At that size, I wouldn't consider doing 3mm as it would look terrible. So, it's either gonna be around $150 or $90 invested in substrate alone. Your vinyl is about as cheap as ya can get, but still with laminate, about $125. So, you...
  14. Need Help Sign Cut Too Short

:awesome: You've got to be kidding me, huh ??
  15. Need Help Sign Cut Too Short

So, what was the picture in your OP about ?? This one is a pan face. You can't save that if it's the wrong size, plus you'll have hot spots all over it. You need exact measurements and pan faces created. Ya can't guess with those things, or you're out a whole lotta money.
  16. Discussion Installed ACM Price Check

Yo.... greenlight. I tried to send you a PM, but you won't allow people to have access to do so. What gives ??
  17. Discussion Installed ACM Price Check

Hahahaaa..... I thought that was an 'R' at first and thought that was an odd name. I think it's too cheap, especially when renting equipment. The panel itself is at least 5 bills, plus time, equipment and profit. Y'all are cheap down there, like you mentioned. Is that thing laminated at that...
  18. Need Help Sign Cut Too Short

I just get a kick outta the safety gear y'all use over there.
  19. Need Help Sign Cut Too Short

Unless you get the correct size for the faces and re-do the whole thing, I'd hate to be the next guy up there having to service that sign. With the amount of capability you've displayed, this thing will be a nightmare to ever take apart, again.
  20. Suggestions Awning repair

Not to mention, almost all the seams need repairs. I doubt it'll work without a hitch and the owner will hold you responsible. Not to mention the egg crates underneath look bad, too. Be better to tell the guy, it has to be replaced with a new one or something more up-to-date.
