Exactly the problem. There are a few poor fixes you can do to try to compensate for lens distortion, (photgraph a grid and compensate in illustrator or photoshop), but failing a large format scan can you measure points X & y and join the dots in your graphics program? It sounds like you need...

a pointed reminder for everyone with anything to lose, insure it first. If you have all the documentation, program disks etc, maybe Flexi would come up with a replacement dongle.

Tell him the basic design is free (or the first half an hour) anything more is $ per hour design time. Frankly though he sounds the kind of ass who will never be happy with what he gets. You aren't doing anything wrong, just encountering more exotic breeds of customer. Decent designs...

You may want to look into copyright. Aside from the legal side, I think money and the image of money is copyrighted by the government.

I hate to say it, but online design software allows your customers to produce crap. On that scale it may sell, but I was involved with a company that tried to do that with banners. Customers hated it. Consistantly bad results. 5 minutes with a designer made everyone happy.
