  1. Stencil on painted concrete

If it's that large and high it should be fine. I have had clients use pounce patterns on big tank graphics and their regular painting crew did the job. If the graphics are basic and large anyone who is a a painter that can cut in a trim color should be able to handle it.
  2. Discussion Just how frickin' stupid can people really be........... ??

OK, this an old thread, but to answer the original question....why can't you just use you own address to fill in the form?
  3. Need Help Can I Apply Laminated Cast Prints Wet?

Always dry if possible. When wet I use only RapidTac 2.
  4. Removing 3 year old Sign Paint from Windows

Only tried Easy Off (original formula) on boat transoms. It worked, but sometimes left a yellow haze which too a bit of work to get rid of. I don't think I'd try it on a painted surface. There are plenty of "eco friendly safe" paint strippers around now that I would try first
  5. Low quality sign shops here in maine

There's cr*p everywhere, and if it's cheap enough the customer doesn't care.
  6. Need Help Laminating vinyl

For any permanent sign laminating printed graphics is a must. We still do a lot of signs and vehicles with cut vinyl which outlast printed vinyl.
  7. Removing 3 year old Sign Paint from Windows

Wow, that's a lot of paint. We always used a razor scraper, but I would want to speed that up with that many windows, so I'd try a paint remover.
  8. Velcro?

I use this place, ask for Dan The Binding Source 3M™ authorized distributor of Tape, Adhesives, Abrasives, and Reclosables
  9. Need Help BEST WAY TO REMOVE RUST OFF OLD METAL SIGN BEFORE NEW MOUNT?

Not sure I understand the question. You are going to cover the backs of some old signs so they can preserve the old sign faces? Why not just replace them and put the old signs inside? I would also prefer to mount a new panel over the sign, a few screw holes is better than all the messing around.
  10. Need help replacing a readerboard with a standard vinyl lettered sign (lexan board)

Is it internally illuminated? I would want to check it out in person to see how the faces were installed.
  11. Substrate Help

Me too, first surface letters on 1/4" acrylic backed with brushed silver vinyl. They tried for a high end look, but from this photo it just looks cheap
  12. Signmaking is territorial, and that can hurt

That sucks and it is a concern I live with because I also have one giant client. If you can make money at the lower prices that's what I would do. But if you're losing money or making less than if you took an outside job it's not worth it. You have to make the call. As someone said, they may...
  13. What is this vinyl?

Well if the client called me to ask about the specs of the material I used I may or may not want to divulge information obviously being used to have someone else do the work. At best I'd give a generic response, which would be on the invoice anyhow, like you said. If I was trying to figure it...
  14. Weird way to install tenant panels

My bet is some designer thought it was a cool concept.
  15. What is this vinyl?

looks like Etch Vinyl applied to tinted windows
  16. Need Help Installation/finishing for 2 sided mdo project

We do the "flashing" or use scraps of signfoam
  17. Hey Edge Printers - advise me and quote me!

We use thermal printable Sign gold. But if they are small it may not be worth it, unless there is sign gold on the truck elsewhere to match
  18. Question would you hire someone...

I've done exactly that. A guy who was interested in the business as something to go into when he retired from his job, had even looked into buying an existing shop. It worked fine. But I can see being concerned that you were only training a competitor.
