  1. Need NEW vinyl supplier ASAP...any recommendations?

If your Pittsburg ends in an H call N Glantz in Monroeville. They have a fair stock of Oracal and will also drop ship or just add a special color to their weekly stock as needed. Their service is A+ Love....jill
  2. For critique

I like the last suggestion. On your original, I prefer the center version, but make Holiday Sale in white. Writing it in red gives it zero contrast. I prefer the retro looking script for Holiday Sale. Has a nice window splashy feel. If it's in a real nice mall, I'd use the Holiday Sale in the...
  3. Brand New Blade "Tearing" Vinyl?

I always used a 60° blade just for cutting reflective, and a 45° or I think even a 30° blade sometimes for cutting high-performance vinyl. This was on my IV-E (Gerber) I have no idea what is in my Graphtec but I have only bought 1 new blade in 3 years. I have a separate blade for reflective for...
  4. Looking for harvester clipart

It's not that hard to draw one using simple shapes. I had to hand paint one on a sign a few years back and of course I just drew it from looking at a manual. You could trace a picture with a Sharpie then scan it into your design program. Better that than the bulldog, but it reminds me of the...
  5. Chromatic Score

Kemp's Permagild is hands-down the best gold paint I've ever used. It's super hard to find. Congrats. Love....Jill
  6. need a work around for painting on coroplast

I would think that oil-based Rustoleum would be OK. Just roll on, leave dry a day, then apply vinyl. You can tape off the area with blue painter's tape so the patch is nice and straight. Remove that right after painting. Latex based paint will flake right off....and vinyl will not stick to...
  7. Ag repair logo

There is no prioritization of the copy, and the meaning is indistinct. Throwing in a dog only adds to the confusion. That, and the huge phone number. Is it Kirk's or KIRKS? I would make the mascot be a muscular looking traditional repair guy wearing biballs, so you know it's somewhat...
  8. Wholesale Printing

I've used D&T Graphics for many years. Love....Jill
  9. Corel draw X7 Vs. X5 learning curve?

I've been using Corel for almost 10 years now. I still learn something every time I use it (usually by mistake) I started with Corel 9 and am up to X5 (I prefer Corel 12 in some cases still) It's like the others said, it's basically the same great program, but with a few more bells and whistles...
  10. ugly?

It just makes no sense to me at all. :banghead: Love....Jill
  11. How to get it through a clients head that their artwork is useless!!!!!!

Mention the price to re-draw. If it is a "real" logo that they paid a designer to do, usually they manage to cough up a usable version of it once price is mentioned. Usually. :ROFLMAO: Love....Jill
  12. Plywood Outdoor Sign

I used exterior grade plywood exclusively for signs from 1985-2005. I am a traditional sign painter. It lasted longer than MDO. I sealed the edges, primed, painted with latex house paint...until I got a plotter and discovered that cut vynull does not stick to latex. I switched to 1-shot or...
  13. How Much Would You Charge for this wrap?

I have been in this business for 29 years, and I have never done a job for a client without first nailing down a price, getting a deposit, etc. It seems really odd to me. Also, I base my work on a per job basis, not with the dangling carrot of more vehicles waiting.
  14. Some times old school seems easier to me

Besides that, it is eminently more satisfying than watching a machine chug away. I think the sharpness of the corners and the details would be better, anyway, done by hand. Looking great. Love....Jill
  15. Hello yins guys!

I'd suggest that you look up Thomas Neon in Valencia. He does a lot of local work. I'm in Middlesex, this is my 29th year of sign painting. Jill
  16. sandblast resist

Try to find a used Gerber with its software (Graphix Advantage or Omega) I do not think a Graphtec is strong enough. Gerber can use ai files. Love.....Jill
  17. Typeface ID Expertise Please

Looks like one of The Fontry's Race package with an added back slant. http://www.thefontry.com/racepak1b
  18. Gerber signmaker 4B swap

I was gonna say, try it. I thought it would work. Love....Jill
  19. What would you do if you "accidentally" named your company?

What is the name now? If it's in the early stages I would surely consider a name change. Maybe even doing the LLC thing too rather than sole proprietor, just not having LLC as big as possible on the logo etc :Big Laugh People are weird, they will think you are out of business at the drop...
  20. Landscape design

I was actually gonna draw up a vintage looking cola bottle with the name on it and the tagline "Make your yard pop!" :ROFLMAO: But I figured Pinfinity wouldn't think it was very professional.
