  1. Some recent trucks

The afters look nice (I would have put the side phone number on the Pan one up on that strip) I want to see the befores as well! I like how you have the info on the backs, the best place for it rather than slathered all over the sides. Love....Jill
  2. Logo feedback

It's Arthur Vanson's Flash Script: http://www.letterheadfonts.com/fonts/flashscript.php To the OP...fonts are dreadful, but still better than how you began. If you're going to use a script for Handcrafted...don't use something that belongs on a wedding invite for a pregnant trailer dweller...
  3. 2 fonts...

Well, the script is not Gillies Gothic or Kaufmann. But I think the other font is a knockoff from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Sorry...I did try. Love....Jill
  4. is there a way to...

I've had no problem with a file exported as an .ai (you may have to save to an earlier version so I always do that) from Corel into Omega and even GA 6.2 Love....Jill
  5. What to charge?

Cutting/weeding/masking will probably take me at least 5 hours. I can lay out fast but I hate doing cutting/weeding/masking. I do think I'll bump up that price. The guy is perfectly OK with whatever I charge. There will be more than enough vinyl in case I jack something up. One sign features...
  6. What to charge?

I have a great customer, for whom I've done a good bit of work. He needs me to cut vinyl for signs. I am getting out of the vinyl business (going to paint only) so he is buying the vinyl, and he's supplying the substrate. (his business uses aluminum) He's even sticking the vinyl. All I have...
  7. Best thing to use for removing vinyl adhesive glue.

N Glantz or Pioneer sells Rapid Remover. It's the t!ts, man. Great with getting the glue off but gentle to the substrate. I've seen Goof Off remove automotive paint. Love...Jill
  8. Scripts are so hard to find....

"Smoothy" from Sign DNA might work. http://signdna.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_8&products_id=95
  9. Critique my company website please. What to do next?

First off, are you a sign maker? Secondly, your site totally crashes my PC.
  10. Oh, how the creative have fallen

There is no shame in pursuing a steady job. At first, it's a little demeaning, but you get used to it. Good luck, and never stop being creative. Love....Jill
  11. Logo feedback

I'd go with something more along these lines. My kerning needs a bit of tweaking.
  12. Logo feedback

While I can see the look you're going for, to me, this looks as if you just modified a VectorArt maltese cross image. It doesn't look very original. I tend to avoid using black and red together when possible. Your colors might look richer/more traditionally minded if you used red/maroon and...
  13. Flower Shop Logo feedback

That is a fun twist. I like that idea. But do you see what I mean about putting the floral & gift on one line? I think it just reads better.
  14. Flower Shop Logo feedback

This is a visual of what I suggested the other day. It may be a bit heavy on the Country but at least it looks concise and upbeat.
  15. Flower Shop Logo feedback

Too much emphasis on the ampersand. Not much of an improvement.
  16. Brush Set?

I would buy one brush, a can of lettering enamel (a half pint) some turpentine, and some baby oil. If you find that you enjoy hand lettering, and have an affinity for it, then I would buy more brushes. I have seen a lot of people waste money on brushes, etc, only to give up after trying to...
  17. Sign remake

I hate white signs as well, but it looks as if he's stuck with the substrate. I also hate the red outline around the name. You don't need that. Try a soft grey drop shadow. The lion graphic already has the school colors in it. I'd make the lion a bit bigger, make the name a bit smaller and...
  18. Flower Shop Logo feedback

Your initial attempt, as has been stated, has absolutely no contrast. Glad you took away the oval. Now take away one of the flowers as it's trying too hard to be cute or clever. I would definitely use another script...something like Wendy. http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/letterperfect/wendy/...
  19. Thoughts on my logo? Thoughts on the name?

Lower the dog graphic, bring "dog" in tighter. Lose the rule line. Less boring font for SIGN COMPANY, something sans serif but not so generic looking. Such as A&S Sign Gothic (signfonts.com) Maybe make it "SIGNS" rather than SIGN COMPANY, if so, use a big chubby font like A&S Trucker thick &...
  20. Quoting Hand Painted

Rick, if using Nova, factor in the price, as it's much more expensive than lettering enamel and may need double coating, depending on the color. But it's still worth it. I don't really like to quote prices out in the open forum, but most people don't hand-paint anyway. I would never charge...
