  1. Mutoh 1204 random lines in print

Static and/or crap on your printhead. Get a flashlight and put the head on "high", pull it off the capping station and take a look, especially in the spaces on either side of the head itself. Also clean the cutting knife if yours is equipped. Clean the capping station well, too.
  2. Question 3M Cast vinyl shortage?!?!

Just talked to my Grimco rep. She said that it just affects the 180 series. Interesting....
  3. Advice on media for unlaminated decals for a new latex owner

6mil is pretty thick for just run of the mill decals. I'd step it back to just a "regular" calendared 2.5 mil or similar.

  6. Question: Still new to vinyl cutting. Sawtooth or jagged edges on Vinyl Cuts?

Yep, all of the above. I've even seen static do that on my own machine (buildup affecting the head - rare, but it happened). Could be the head is on it's way out as well.
  7. Question Vehicle Graphics

Personally, I never use a level. Just not a smart way to apply graphics. What if one or more of the tires is low? Or suspension isn't sitting right? Levels belong on buildings, not vehicles. That said, I generally pick the strongest, straightest body line, usually the rocker line at the bottom...
  8. Too good to be true?

Yeah, but who has a spare $250K laying around? And the power supply for those is huge..
  9. Too good to be true?

That's interesting and since it's portable opens up some unique opportunities. But what is it with everything being smart phone controlled? The last thing I want to do is try to design on a 4" square screen. There's no reason this can't be run from a laptop.
  10. News What do you think about the current votes...

Numbers will be changing for the next couple days as the mail-ins and absentee ballots are processed. It's going to be a tight race for sure. The orangutan, of course, has already declared victory.
  11. Scam-Harlan Hales is back

Cool. I just got this email for 100 banners from Harlan. Time to scam the scammer..

And now that it's been cleaned up, time to delete this thread.
  13. Michael Colella, "merchant member"

So, when is this guy going to be banned for just joining, then spamming every single thread for a webinar (typically unrelated to the thread he's spamming) in the space of an hour?
  14. Bull Crap of the day

Had your output set to black and white maybe?
  15. Is grimco down?

And what does that have to do with Grimco having website issues?
  16. Vcarve cuts are cutting too deep

Not enough info. What bit are you using? What are you zeroing to? By your screenshot you're trying to do a V-cut with an endmill, and that alone is going to give you errors. You have to enter in the info on the V bit size, toolpath it as a V-cut with a flat bottom at 3mm.
  17. Corel gurus - I need you! Gradiants on edges

I think I got it. I used a combination of the suggested ideas and came up with basically layering blends (or, more specifically, blend wanna-be's using the contour-to-center option) and overlays. It's not totally perfect, but I think it'll work fine for printed on RealGold.EBC Maltese by...

  19. Corel gurus - I need you! Gradiants on edges

That's pretty much the effect I'm looking for but am failing spectacularly in obtaining it. When I do that blend as you illustrate, even with minimal nodes, the blend is going in all directions. It's weird. But if I do a "contour to center" I get the same effect.
  20. Corel gurus - I need you! Gradiants on edges

Excellent solutions - will giv them a go in the morning!
