check the condition of the plastic gear that meshes with the scan motor. If that's chewed up it can cause noise and eventually failures. Pulling the print carriage will put more load on the whole system. BTW, I've never seen those belts stretch. They've got steel cables embedded in them...

There are tiny set screws in the ends of the pins, behind the screws you can see. I think they're 1.5mm Allen screws. Loosen those set screws and the pins come out easily. It stumped me for a while till I spoke with a tech at Gerber about it.

I've not seen one broken, but have seen them wear and had to replace a couple of them for that reason (it was kind of an overhaul of the loading system, otherwise I probably wouldn't have replaced it on it's own). Good Luck

I don't think the VG will print that info. I think you need to get a peck report using the Copeck tool. Then a Roland tech can save it as a format that you'd be able to read for you.
