We have to make a couple of large street name signs for a Signal Project.
One sign is 2' by 11' and the other one is 2' by 7ish'. Anyways, we normally outsource this but i was wanting to do this in-house. I laid the White HIP on an aluminum sheet and then plotted some green electrocut.
First...
Does anybody on here create their files in Illustrator?
We export them to DXF files but when i pull them up on the software that creates the G-Code, there are lines missing. We then have to add lines in that software so that the file cuts correctly.
What am i doing wrong? Thanks!
Anybody have any advice on wrapping F-550 Utility trucks? Theres always so much going on and it's obviously all one print and it looks good and the customer is happy with it but I know it could look a lot better especially when the cabinets are opened, theres a lot of white space.
Advice...
Who do you guys order polycarbonate from? We normally order from Grimco and that works just fine. Just wasn't sure if there were any vendors out there that were more affordable.
Thanks
I've attached a picture of the problem we're having.
We're using an HP Latex 560 and printing on 3930 White HIP, we're using Onyx Thrive. Somebody mentioned using the software made just for Traffic Colors but we're hitting PMS colors, not traffic colors so thats irrelevant, i think?
Anyways...
Is there any particular way you recommend doing that? I'm asking since the overlaminate is roll-fed so its definitely more practical and bubble-free to laminate the printed HIP and then mounting the signs. I haven't tried it but i feel like manually applying the 1170 the sign with HIP would be...
From what i see, it looks like its the reflective to metal layer.
And yes, i thought the same thing. HIP is so thick and such high tack that i had a hard time believing it.
The prints are full prints, yes. we're using the HP profile made just for this material so i wouldn't think its the...
Has anybody every applied 3M HIP Sheeting Series 3930 onto Powder Coated Aluminum blanks?
We are printing on the HIP with our 560 Latex and using 1170 electrocut as overlaminate. We can apply the sheeting to the signs just fine but now, we're getting to the bigger signs (8' by 3' sheets of .080...
We just got a "Industrial CNC Router." Thats the name of the brand i guess.
Either way, it uses Mach3 and we use BobCam to create the G-Codes.
We've done test cuts on different materials, mostly .080 aluminum and the finish product looks great with an 1/8 and 1/4 inch bit.
We also wanted to...
Hey guys,
Does anyone know of a material that can be used on the new Ford F-150s?
We had a huge order of magnets that we sent out and turns out, all their vehicles had an aluminum body.. *facepalm*
They want something that has the same properties of a magnet. They want to be able to take the...
So we have Onyx Thrive 421 and that gives us four licenses total to share between the two HP Latex 560 printers we have.
Ocassionally, when the RIP crashes, I have to force quit and then reopen the software. Most of the time, when I do this, it says I don't have permission or enough licenses to...
Does anybody else have problems when they print on window perf?
I'm talking specifically about dimensions. Whenever I print a job on window perf, the width is usually fine but the length is shorter than what the RIP says.
Anybody running into this?
So i just tried removing a small piece of vinyl from a truck and the paint is coming off with it.
I haven't touched it since but i was hoping on some input. Do i just need to heat it up before i start stripping the vinyl wrap? Any other tips?
Thanks
Hey guys,
I was wondering if any of you had installed graphics like the attached image?
We've ordered some pink oracal 651 but now i'm thinking that thats not the best way to go about it.
Should i just print and contour cut the pink? There's some pretty heavy curves so I don't know. Any ideas...
Guys,
We print 99% of our wraps on 3M IJ180. I'm testing out Avery due to cost.
I've set up the profile for it on our printer but the color isn't calibrated. I've done Color Calibration and it looks good but when i actually go to print something, the CYAN is off (I believe). Gray prints are...

Phil Johnson recommended to turn off the autofeed, i did that and it started working fine.
