Substance is great but if you are concerned that it is expensive Convex is even more costly.
I have used both the thinner and thicker laminates and they both work well but still are so slow to cut.
A few years ago I tried another material (it was an unbranded material) which our supplier...
Brilliant reply...LOL
The life span of these materials can be as much caused by the climate, how well the customer looks after it, etc..
I have had customers in my shop wanting signs and graphics to last 10 years!
We had an oriental gentleman wanting a 20 year guarantee for his sign!!
This...
I've been in this trade coming up 30 years and have used 651 for the past 7 years.
I can be honest in saying it is one of the best intermediate vinyls and have used it on vehicles and signs with no problems.
I live in damp and cold area so this probably helps. I very rarely use a cast material...
Oh dear they look almost similair in spec and quality!!
I would try and screw Mutoh down on the ink.
Also I would not use a bulk system till the warranty was over.
Also in my experience of both inks solvent and eco solvent most if not all things printed will be overlaminated and their is very...
Their is no way you can estimate what the ink consumption is on either machine as prints vary so much.
They will use roughly the same amount as each other as you have to use the same amount of ink on either machine to make a colour.
It is all based on ink costs.
If you are using fully solvent...
We have had our VJ 1604 for coming on 6 years.
For the first 2/3 years it was only lightly used (mainly because of costs of OEM inks).
Over the last 3 years it has been very heavily used and had been converted to run bulk inks.
With running bulk inks the average consumption has been reduced by...
Please before you start the fuse repair understand that the fuse is a safety part of the circuit and has blown for a reason.
We also changed the head cable and the print head as they were both over five years old and either one of these items or both caused the head to blow.
We had a tec in to...
We have a sign on the office wall stating how much it is for artwork to be supplied and it seems to cause no problems.
Also every time it is requested they have to pay again.
It states that the artwork is ours until paid for.
Pointless trying to blackmail customers to stay.
Where we are...
Fluorescent and Chrome are the worst to be used outside but both together is a sure recipe for disaster.
As for fitting onto a windscreen I wouldn't guarantee any further than a day even less if it rains.
I have had both Fluorescent and Chrome fail within 6 months.
The Colour is just printed...
Another Encoder Disk or Encoder Strip issue (all dependant on what way you are printing).
If it as it comes out of the machine it is a Encoder Disk issue (the one on the side of the machine).
If it is appearing left to right it is the encoder strip.
Clean very very gently with denatured alcohol...
We now give the option that no job gets even looked at unless 50% or full payment is taken.
I have been burnt and out of pocket too many times now to expect any less.
Please remember as a signmaker we are not a bank or finanance company so we should not be treated as one.
If the customer/client...
I would clean around the print head, wiper and capping station.
Make sure their is plenty ink in the machine.
Then leave it on stand by and set to clean every 12 hours.
I assume you always leave it on stand by anyway as it is always supposed to be on stand by when not in use and never turned...
I have seen similair issues and it could also be the pump or pump lines blocked.
Can you see the ink flowing in both the drain pipes?
I have seen the pump lines so blocked it needed dismantled and cleaned.
The ink blocks in the lines and comes out like pencil lead.
I put a little cleaning fluid...
Just one thing, when changing the printhead also replace the head cable with a genuine one.
As far as printheads go 5 years is the maximum and should of been changed well before that.
When I was looking in the UK for a head the prices didn't vary that much, but $1200 is almost half what I paid...
I thought I had this one but it turns out I don't.
As per normal it looks so familiar but I don't have it.
Designers always try to find the most hidden and obscure fonts!!!
