They should be prepared for it not to work. With that length of time and background color I don't know anything that would work without marring the finish.
and laminating a limited life specialty vinyl doesn't make it last as long as a cast vinyl, but it does keep it looking better for longer. And yea we tell the customer the limits
The only time we laminate a cut vinyl job is when the vinyl chosen has limited life span, like chrome or flourescent. Then we do a contour cut overlay with a slight trap line
Yea, well now the stock market has been reacting and it's not good. I got a message from my magnet supplier that they may have shortages. You can't find a medical quality face mask anywhere. That isolated case in California that just happens to coincide with the arrival of US citizens from the...
Here's what it ended up looking like. One on hood and one on deck, and some painted numbers and graphics on sides. I used a mask for the shape that had an 1/8" pull line for after the size was applied and another pull line for the edge of the back border After is was sized, leafed and hand spun...
something like this would work for a cut out shape https://www.display-wholesale.com/Medium-1-2-Spider-Feet-Sign-Holder-p/RFS02.htm?gclid=CjwKCAiAhc7yBRAdEiwAplGxXx8s2o-gZxOcOVeEN6P-2yB0gtTXFwXSaAJQHKndiPXjGpekOpJVVxoC3mIQAvD_BwE
So he has nothing to do with but still owns it....and his new business only wants to do cheap wraps with a vinyl he makes and only in one location.... yea that's that's the ticket
I use backer panel on HDU a lot. It the case you have described I would bond it to a backer panel and if it still feels a little wobbly use stringers to install.
Yes, handlettering. I'm concerned about messing up the leaf if I make a mistake, and the black doesn't need clearcoating. I did some family crest plaques ages ago where I lettered after gilding the shields, but they didn't get any clear coating at all.
I haven't done gold leaf on a vehicle in ages...lots of carved and dimensional letters, but nothing that requires a clear coat.
I have a job to do on an old race car to replicate the original design. It had a hand spun gold leaf circle with a black number on it. I'm wondering if I should do the...
Nope, I wouldn't...but that's me. Since the customer is a friend maybe they could post a note thanking them for the nice job installing the signs and thank the company that made the panels in the same post
I agree with subbing out the printing/cutting to someone who has the appropriate equipment and material. The most expensive part of that job is the design.
