You need a flatbed cutter to cut magnet and it is highly recommended that you don't print directly to magnet on a roll to roll machine. If you want to make magnets you are going to need to print on vinyl and apply it on the magnet or get a flatbed printer. You can cut square magnets easily by...
There are two possibilities when there is an electrical short in the head circuit. The fuse blows which makes the print head stop printing at all. Or in your case, it makes the head signal turn on 100% and you get the streaking you see. Most likely it is the head cable that is bad and a lot of...
When you replaced the cap top, did you make sure to put the blue stopper on the 3rd hole on the bottom of the cap? If not, that is the problem. If it is on there then...
Check the bottom of the print head to make sure there isn't a bunch of dried up ink preventing the cap from making a good...
When the ValueCut reads the media successfully, it automatically is in ready to cut mode but it won't say so on the screen. If you hit the "Online/Offline" button it will allow you to go into the menus and cutter settings and then if you hit the same button again, it will be in ready to cut...
Get a used Roland SP-300V, SP-300i or VP300i. They are older machines but they are holding up great as they age and are easy to find used and for much cheaper than a brand new setup. In general you should be able to find one for around $4000 - $5500. They are great starter machines and it sounds...
There is definitely a possibility that the head is damaged from the strikes but it could still just be clogged. It's worth replacing the cap top and checking the pump for clogs and doing head soaks to try and get it firing again. Heads are expensive.
The cap top is the rubber seal that the heads sit on when they are not being used. If it is dirty or damaged or just worn out, it will cause your nozzles to drop like yours are. I would try cleaning them first and also looking at the bottom of the print head. Clean any built up ink on the bottom...
Run a nozzle check. That will tell you what is printing and what isn't. It looks like the black is definitely having a hard time but you will want to see if the other colors are having the same issue. You need to have all of the nozzles firing before you can move on to the alignments. The most...
I just recently was informed about it from my Flexi sales rep. It should be in the latest version but I haven't had time to play around with it. I would call in to them and see if they can walk you through it.
You have to have a leak somewhere. I only have experience with the bigger JFX200 model and the antifreeze barely ever has to be refilled. Mimaki even says that the antifreeze provided with the machine is a life time supply. I would do a very thorough inspection of the lines.
The SG-300 doesn't have better quality than the SP-300i. In general if you start with high quality bitmaps and vector graphics, printing at 720x720 will look photo quality. I go to a lot of shops around the country and I rarely see anyone printing 1440x1440 if at all.
They will all have...
The only difference is that one is solvent resistant and the other is not. If you get solvent you can use it in either machine. The aqueous ones will melt in a solvent machine. Mutoh actually stopped selling aqueous heads and switched to only solvent for all of their machines in the last year or so.
You can tell just by looking at the nozzle check that your alignments are way off. You need to go through every single alignment and in the proper order. That will fix the issue.
Hit menu then scroll up until you see, "Selection". Hit enter. Now you will have a list of all the menus available. Some will have *s next to them and some won't. The ones without an * won't show up on your standard menu. Hit enter to add the * to the menus you want to show up.
Technically it's the first graphics software I used when it first came out and I was around 5 years old. Little did I know it would lead to being in the graphics profession 26 years later. Although I am a horrible artist, I did start out as a graphic designer before making the switch to the...
Try setting up the port in Flexi as one of the COM ports. If there are multiple COM ports try each until it works. I know it doesn't sound right but it often works for me on older machines with this type of setup. Also, if you see a port called, "USB_Printer_0" and no other device is hooked up...
Most UV inks still have small amounts of solvents in them which can evaporate and dry the ink in the head. So over time they do act like solvents when unplugged and not running automatic cleaning cycles. I would say best case scenario just the heads are fried and nothing else.
