So I was friends with about 5 local sign shops. One of them closed, another changed management, etc.
It started out great, we would borrow materials, give each other work, give discounts to each other etc. Now I am friends with only one sign shop. The rest and the others have become jerks. They...
After seeing a BBB sticker, it was printed on both side. One side was standard and on the adhesive side it was printed as well but behind the adhesive.
So if you stuck it to a window, you can see it. I am guessing the adhesive was applied after printing?
I wanted to go with Laguna Tools or Multicam, but I need a cheaper start up machine to start learning on. I only need it to make molds right now that can withstand a Kiln.
I am looking for something 12" X 18" cut area or up to a 2' X 3'. What kind of substrate will hold up in a 2,000 degree...
I've had bad luck with manufacturers, I've been using Gemini and Direct Sign Wholesale for my LED signs. I don't do any neon at all.
Gemini is decent, but the last two products I ordered they went from about 115 lumen LEDs down to 60 lumen and the brightness on back-lit halo is terrible,
and...
I was curious to know what price everyone is charging for banners and the size of their town. I charge per square foot and am in a medium size town.
I understand that Washington D.C. and A backwoods town in a remote area is going to have way different pricing.
The other shops around me is $7 /...
For those of you who use 3M, what is the reason you use that brand? I am curious. Is it because it's popular? Is it good vinyl? the high price equals a better product?
I've used Oracal, 3M, Avery, LG, Arlon, etc.
Oracal has never failed me, no roll problems, no adhesive problems, no ink...

I am having a hard time identifying that big white thing that someone says is a printer. Any ideas?
I think I solved the other one, I believe it's a Redsail Chinese Plotter, what do you think?
I just purchased a bucket truck for my sign company, it's a 2000 GMC with a 30' boom.
Question is, how much do I charge for it? One of my goals is to change light bulbs in shopping centers, but also of course use it to install signs.
I've tried to research pricing and haven't found anything...
I am about to enter the printing side of sign making, I am getting a Roland Versacamm 540i 54" printer.
It comes with Roland Versaworks. Is this a professional software that I should use as an entry-level RIP? or what do you recommend I get? I can't afford the best of the best. So please advise...
I have Corel Draw 14. There is only two transparent things I can find.
#1. The tool where you drag an arrow on the part to make it transparent, I've tried Add, Subject, Multiply, etc. It doesn't get rid of the white background. The entire image fades or brightens.
#2. The Eraser, this makes...
Sometimes people are saying my banners are too cheap, others complain I am very expensive. What would you normally charge for these? Cut vinyl, not printed.

3' X 8' 14oz Banner reinforced, One color: $

I am about to get a Roland Versacamm 540i 54" printer. I need to get a 54" or 55" laminator also. However I need something under $4,000 new.
I heard Seal is the best, but out of my price range. Can you tell me a very good cold laminator in 55" size that would be great to start with? I know I...
When you use for example a 24" roll of vinyl and cut out something 12". Cut off the remaining piece you didn't use and save it. This can be reused as a back up if you make a mistake, or used to cut smaller decals and stuff.
Use a ruler or something straight and try to make the cut as straight...
If you are doing layers, (vinyl cut on top of vinyl cut) once you lay the outline, or weeded it, and are ready to put the letters on the outline. Here is a tip.
If your plotter goes off alignment even a little bit, the words aren't going to match up correctly with the outline. If this happens...
So where can Poly-Metal be found? I have a friend at a sign shop who uses it. Any ideas? and I'd like to know how much a 4 X 8 sheet costs if you happen to know.
Thanks! :thumb:
How come every time I post something on this forum, people get into my face, post offensive stuff, and so on. But when I say something, I get warned. Everyone is one sided. You all can talk bad about me and I have to accept it, not allowed to say anything.
Admins pick sides, this is by far the...
