For FOX SAKE don't get the Truevis. I had the SG and it came with at least 3 different problems. +no takeup/900dpi vs 1440/no nozzle recovery/expensive ink. I have a mimaki now and the fact that it doesn't lick itself on startup makes a big difference already.
I buy original, it's $30 for roland and it cuts cleaner and works longer, I replace it every 3 months and use it daily 20-30 minutes. Back in the days I bough chinese blades off ebay like 5 pcs for $3 but quickly realized they are cheap and sh*tty, not worth the hassle.
If you apply the gold separately I think the contraction of the vinyl will result in an ugly separation line. I'd print the stuff, cover the 'ungolded' parts with clear removable wall vinyl (cut to shape) and apply gold where needed (with spay glue) and then remove the removable vinyl and lam...

Are you kidding right? You can print canvas with a 11.5 feet long $5000 chines banner printer and it'll still look pretty good. Try printing GLOSSY vinyl to see what a grainy print looks like.
