  1. VersaUV LEJ-640F

I posted a video of this machine about a year ago. Roland piped up and said it was for Euro markets only. I much prefer this setup compared to the current UV 640 for sale here in the states. This machine is still not my cup of tea. I would go for a beefier UV printer myself.
  2. The truth about outgassing

For what it's worth. I print rolls of wrap vinyl a week. While I do wait a day to laminate them, I do not unfurl the roll for "drying". Have I had a problem yet? No.
  3. Franks face on a fellers warehouse now...where next?

Fellers takes great care of me, so I can't complain too much. That said. This has to go. UGLY design.
  4. roland printhead meltdown (as in smoke)!

Do you mean your head board? The main board too? Surely you blew some resistors. The main board should not be fried.
  5. Versaworks vs. Roland Cut Studio

I use VW and Cut Studio. I am not aware of any calibrations within Cut Studio. It is a basic program, but effective. I run across to scenarios when my cut paths are off. 1) The material should be adjusted to the far left side when using a full sheet. If it skews significantly to the...
  6. UltraFlexx 13oz getting thinner?

um yeah. A) this thread is from 2012, buddy. B) much easier and more accurate to weigh a square yard, compared to an entire roll. at least with the scale I have here. :thumb:
  7. Roland SolJet Pro II Ex Question about print temperature

I print from 36-42. On certain materials like paper, the inks do not try fast at all. On banner, there's no problem. If you have ink drying problems, it could be profile related. I put a small 6" fan in front of my take-up when running posters to help dry the ink. Works perfect, and...
  8. Laminator Advice

Watch ebay for a used seal. I grabbed a Seal in the fall. LOVE it! Roller condition is key.
  9. Rastek. Seriously???

I was looking at a UV Rastek. Nevermind. Glad I read this thread.
  10. vp-540 Cyan going nuts

That is weird. It shouldn't be doing that during a test print. Electrical issue. I've never seen this one before.
  11. Roland stand alone cutters, review?

I print / lam / cut on a gx500. Love it. Bullet proof.
  12. Bringing a head back to life!!! You have to check this out!

holy smokes! I wish I knew about this years ago. I'll be giving this a shot next time. Too bad I just tossed a print head that was ghosting.
  13. Roland LEJ-640 Print Cost

The ink only comes in 220ml carts. So you will be changing them OFTEN. like daily if you are doing all day runs. I can only speak from my roll machines, but they burn through ink fast.
  14. Bulk Inks

I use Solaris inks with no problems. Love the stuff. Compared to OEM the inks, Solaris puts off quite a smell. I vent my machine. On a new Roland like yours. I would not change ink sets. Wait until the warranty is over. If something does go wrong, even if the ink was not at fault...
  15. Our Roland Technician can't figure out - 0800800 / Can't get into service mode

If you pull the main board battery, and reinstall it. Won't that reset the cleaning command? then you can start over with a new limit test, after that, do an encoder test and check all the limit sensors.
  16. Roland VS-640: Nozzles not working/Air bubbles on ink tubes?

Or you could buy a small syringe pull off the damper, insert the baby syringe into the damper, and suck a little ink out the line. Stop pulling once the bubbles are out. Then put the damper on, and run a cleaning cycle to prime the heads. You'll use a fraction of ink compared to running a...
  17. SolJet ProV 545EX?

There is a work around on the Pro II series to use the cutter. We have a Pro II and a GX 500. You can easily run print/cut with it. You have to setup the cut files in the GX software then export to VW. Once printed in VW you run the cut path in CutStudio. Roland has a PDF to cover this...
  18. Anyone print PVC banners with Roland printers?

We have been printing them for 8 years. No problems.
  19. roland LEJ printing problem

can you run a fill/test pattern from the service menu? It will tell you what heads are acting up. How old are your dampers? How are the cap tops? Most likely you have a head going causing horizontal banding. The fill test will tell you what you need to know.
