the hp is latex and the mutoh is solvant. i have used many different machines over the years
the one that required the most to run and had the worst smell was my hp indigo 5000. it was a digital printing press and required a separate cooling tower
we save things normally as an eps or as a tiff depending on what it is.
we use onyx and let that set our tiling, can manually adjust it in onyx as needed.

as far as the bolts. not a big issue. but if you could remove them and reinstall them would make life a lot easier
it wont be fun to install with out wrinkles, if you could tile into smaller pieces might make it a little easier, but the curve plus the ridges equal not fun but not impossible either
i use 180-10cv3 for everything and wrap with it all day long. printed with my hp latex and the 3m luster overlam 8519 works like a charm for everything i do with it
with changing blades i would suggest you check your offset angle and reset that. lower your pressure and check your Teflon strip to make sure its not damaged

my mutoh was very inconsistent on color had to let things outgas
with the hp i can print lam cut and install all with in moments of each other.
its easy to keep the machine set to base line standard so i can reproduce a job i did...
what your seeing is called banding.
you said you left the machine on. you should always leave the machine on. it does auto cleaning while idle to keep the head from getting clogged.
now your banding is either from a head issue or an encoder issue.
