  1. Vinyl Rack - Twister Tower by Yellotools

I may be paranoid, but I always try to put unused material back into a poly bag to keep dust off, and then back into a cardboard box to help keep humidity away from the roll.
  2. hp 3000 & fb700 user manuals

Thanks Frank! I was at that page, but only saw the video help files. I've downloaded the pdfs now. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

  5. Ditching cable TV

I bought a cheap blue-ray player that receives wi-fi and transmits to my tv. Along with a $20 antennae from homedepot for trashy local news, and basic internet, I'm good! I paid for high-speed for a long time until one of my professional AV friends told me it was just an upsell. I stream from...
  6. Ink usage on 1 sq/ft on L360

Check your RIP for a cost estimator. Wasatch (and I think Onyx) will itemize costs based on your input for substrate and ink prices. If not, your equipment/consumables vendor or manufacturer can provide a ball park figure, but it won't be exact, as your profile will most likely vary from theirs.
  7. Help Needed with this effect

looks like bevel and emboss in PSD to me. Good Luck!
  8. Whatcha know about 3M Print Film 40C-10R that replaced IJ40C

still have tons of IJ40C, but was told by 3M that the 10R is easier to apply. I'm hoping the newer version doesn't smell as bad (to me) when traveling over the heaters! http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/1001244O/product-bulletin-40c.pdf

  10. Object cuttin sequnce?

Typically paths get processed in stacking order or by the order in which they were drawn. Most cnc equipment will give you different options for "sorting" your vectors.
  11. Test Print Files

Include some of your production files; the test prints supplied by printer/RIP manufacturers don't really match the types of jobs we do, so they can be misleading. I think the best test would be with your preferred media under your desired quality/speed conditions. I'm evaluating a Seiko M, and...
  12. Target Registration Edge FX and Envision 375

+1 to Graphic Marking Systems! I would first check for extraneous points in your design that may be out of bounds. Next I would run the "calibrat" file Gerber provides. We typically output via GSP Plot versus outputting from Composer. Good Luck, and please share how you ended up resolving the...
  13. Vinyl and laminate concrete floors

Check out FLEXcon's options. They have film/lam constructions for smooth flooring as well as low and high pile carpet. Obviously you want the "Floor Graphics" as opposed to the carpet products, but as a side note, they offer a combo for carpet that's designed to prevent puncture from high heeled...
  14. Translucent Yellow vinyl or Yellow Acrylic?

pretty sure the acrylic will hold it's color longer. Extruded acrylic will have a more uniform and consistent thickness, and that makes me think there would be less chance of hot spots when compared to cast acrylic
  15. Need Advise on following Aqueous Rolls

Dye inks aren't really cost effective for outdoor applications because they require a lam with massive amounts of UV inhibitors, and even with that, they won't last long. Pigments have large particle sizes with more mass and density, so they are more durable than dyes- in many ways.

  19. Reflective Window Perf

I wonder if this could be done on clear using Summa's Rose Holographic foil and the vision print concept, where the RIP knocks all the little holes our of the design?
  20. Mimaki JV33 Crash

had the same problem with some of our JV33 printers. RIP'ing via Wasatch. We tried all of the above suggestions with the additional step of insulating our USB cables from noise. We haven't had this issue come back for a long time. Good Luck!
